Bay Tree Bar-Bistro — Restaurant in Rotherham

We visited as a table of 4 last weekend. I have seen really reviews about how amazing the food is and how friendly the staff are. Staff 100% are really friendly and attentive when you need a drink. The table we had was at the side of the toilet which meant that whoever needed to go would be hovering at the side of us if it was in use. The starters looked like they had just dropped the dish in a big pan and filled it to the brim. No presentation what so ever for garlic mushrooms the sauce was all over. The main I had meatballs which were lovely if you like tomato sauce but not much taste. My partner had chicken which was so small and dry, the lemon potatoes were extremely hard and was left untouched (the staff never questioned this) our other friend had gammon and left that. Then along came the pasta bake which was bland and hard just like it had been warmed up. Not once was we asked if everything was ok. 1st time coming here. Booked it earlier today and they only had 5pm for 2hrs. That was absolutely fine. We got there and it wasnt what we expected (im not sure what i expected tbh 🤣) its a small quirky place. Gorgeous interior. Lovely service from the staff. And the food!!! Wow!!! Absolutely beautiful. And they do gluten free!!!! There isnt alot but its there. I know ill be able to come back and have something different and not get bored from eathong the same things. I was really impressed with the moussaka as i even got gluten free bread with it instead of a pitta. Normally i just dont get bread in other places. It really is the little things. For starters i had the walnut and orange salad i can honestly say its the best salad ive had in a long time. So well presented and super tasty. We will definitely be returning with friends and we will be returning alot more as its only 16min away!! Why we have never known about this place before i do not know. Absolutely highly...

Just come back from a family meal to celebrate a birthday and had a lovely time. Joe was brilliant at getting 24 people (including children) booked in and was so helpful each and every time I needed to make changes or had enquiries. Georgia was so accommodating on the day and made the night extra special with little touches. Everyone's food was amazing and brought out timely and as pre ordered. The staff (who I learnt on the way out were brand new on the night) were fantastic! So welcoming, attentive and professional. It was really all in all a great night thanks to everyone who clearly works so hard at the restaurant. The place is a real gem and we will definitely be back and would recommend without hesitation....
