We decided to eat here on a night away. We were attracted by the reviews and because they were offering a buffet. When we entered the retaurant it became clear that they were not offering a buffet (defined in the dictionary as "a counter where guests help themselves to food from a number of dishes"). When I asked how the buffet worked, I was told that there was a choice of food and that we had to order and it would be served to us and we could have as much as we wanted. OK... let's give it a go we thought. Popadoms and pickle were warm and tasty. Starters - onion bhaji and chicken tikka.. yes all good and very hot. Pint and a half of Cobra.. also cold and refreshing. There was a liimited choice of Lamb Dopiaza, Chicken Korma and Vegetable Pathia for the mains, so we asked for the lamb and vegetable dishes. That is where it all went downhill. Two bowls of "gloop" were served to us. The Lamb Dopiaza had two small cubes of lamb in the dish surrounded by a gelatinous sauce and a few tough slices of onion. The Vegetable Pathia had a sprinkle of sweetcorn, a few peas and one piece of potato in a sea of sauce. In fairness, the dishes were fairly OK tasting, but what a bitter disappointment. This place would be quite good if it were not for the main dishes. As it stands after this meal and the fact that it is NOT a buffet, I can not...
Read moreCurries were advertised at a medium spice being a dopiaza and a balti, neither were spicy. ordered an onion rice and it was different to any other I've had, was a funny colour and had god knows what in it, tasted funny whether you ate with or without the curry sauce. Both curries were completely different types but we had to closely look which was different as one was chicken and the other panner as my partner is vegetarian. Again curries were different types but were a bright red colour, unlike any balti or dopiaza we have had. And to add to it the panner was cold but the sauce was hot, clearly cooked at different times. The chips were in a paper bag which is normal but then wrapped in tin foil which was so hot it nearly burned my hand. Delivery time was supposed to be 8 till 8:20 but was 40 minutes late. When it arrived the driver passed the food and walked off. No enjoy, thankyou or nothing. Made 4 requests on uber for an update but no feedback so called. As expected, the usual response was it's just left. Convenient thebexact time I call it had just left. Considering the time and distance from my house its a 4 minute drive, takeaway didn't turn up for atleast 15 minutes after the call. The food was not enjoyed and I feel we have wasted our money. Never been disappointed with a curry as even an average curry...
Read moreDisgusting. The driver phoned me to say he was waiting on the main road with his hazard lights on and I needed to go and collect the food. I didn't know if he just didn't know where I was. I asked he was going to ring the doorbell like I'd put in the instruction on just eat as I'm disabled and have to walk on crutches. I couldn't work out what he'd said as there was background noise so I said I would go down and find him. He wasn't outside, I had to phone him back and he said could I wave so he would know where I was! He drove down to outside, but was still on the busy main road. When he saw I was on crutches, he was suddenly extremely apologetic, saying oh, my darling, I'm sorry, are you happy?! Well I got the food and the cardboard lid had been squashed right into the sauce in the foil tin. I tasted the chicken and it tasted off and was in tiny dried up bits, I think the chicken was old bits they'd just thrown in the lukewarm sauce...so I wasn't going to eat that! There was a bag of chips I hadn't ordered, I think that might've been by way of an apology for how bad the food was. There's no way I'm going to order from this...
