Just been in took my purchases to the till. My husband had chosen a Lyle & Scott jacket that had several reduced labels on, the last one being Ā£24. The girl on the till said it was coming up at Ā£56. She never apologised just got on the phone for someone from menās wear to come. No one came so rang again for someone else to come. My husband said there were more all priced up the same and was she trying to say we had changed the label as that was how she made us feel and she said she didnāt know whether that was the case. She then accused my husband of being abusive!! Which he wasnāt. If she had apologised in the first place he wouldnāt have said anything, there was a queue and we felt embarrassed. The lady who came to the till said to put it through at Ā£24. The young girl then said Iāll just get into trouble every time. We paid for our goods and decided to go back and get the other jackets on the rail to prove that they were all priced up at Ā£24 when I saw the woman who had sorted the queries out and she said she should not have spoken to us the way she did and that she would be speaking to her manager. I would say she needs some training in customer care. I have worked in retail at Sainsburys for 33 yrs and I would never have spoken to a customer as she did. She was moaning about the customer previous to us that had also had an item that had the wrong price on it, the customer had left it behind saying that they needed to get their prices sorted out! Itās not good that people think that they are buying something at one price and then finding out itās wrong at the till. Thank you to the lady who sorted the purchase out for us. Must say it has put us off going in the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe store is very large, offering quite a wide variety of goods from well-known brands at reduced prices
The advertise hours on Google unfortunately did not take into account their browsing time which for myself was excessive at 1 hour... The store opens for trade at 11:00 on Sunday and not 10:00 a.m. or 10:30.
Unfortunately during my visit there were several things that could have been improved.
For around 20 minutes there was 3 to 4 members of staff stood in the middle of the store, having a nice chat. This means, in my opinion, that they were overstaffed, with not enough work to do. As a customer, we are paying for four members of staff to have a chat.
That were also members of staff walking around the store chewing gum. I don't think that this looks very professional whilst they are at work
We visited on remembrance Sunday. Due to this fact, the tills were open a few minutes late due to the 2-minute silence, which is to be expected. What I did not expect was that 35 seconds into a 2 minute silence that a woman would come over the tannoy and explain why we were observing the silence, thus ruining the silence which everybody else was adhering to.
I found this to be completely disrespectful.
I have uploaded a picture which was taken whilst the tools were open to show the significant cues of people that were trying to pay and get out of the store. Unfortunately, they still did not have all of the tills open and it seems common that many people were not aware of the extended...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGood store with a wide range of items available. Really good prices for Yankee candles. Cafe very reasonable prices and range of food too. You can sign up to be a member but this isn't mandatory unlike some stores. The main benefits you get for being a member are that you get mailings which give you further discounts off the prices that are shown on items and information about when they have specific items on at reduced prices, recently this was on Radley hand bags. (March 2019) They also frequently have a free pot of tea or filter coffee for you and a friend voucher on mailings, around Christmas time this changes to mulled wine and a mince pie. The main problem with this store is that the items on sale are packed much too closely together leaving very little room between display cabinets and shelves. Frequently only just enough room for one trolley, nowhere near enough room for a wheelchair or a pram to get through. Not good in the crockery area!! There are toilets available in store which are usually clean (at least ladies are, not sure about gents as not been with a male friend!) Has a large car parking area which is shared with the Morrisons...
