I ordered a double Old Faithful burger for myself and my partner ordered Hunters Chicken, via the app. I also ordered a pint of Carling with my partner having a large glass of wine. The order was placed at 6.20pm. The drinks arrived just before 6.30 pm. Having just moved into the area it was meant as a celebration tea as the house we've just moved into completed. The pub wasn't busy at all. At 7.00pm we chased up our order which then arrived about 5 minutes later. We both found the portion sizes quite small, however the main issue was my burgers were very dry and overcooked, my partners Chicken was also very dry. My chips were a mediocre temperature. I had almost finished my larger before the food arrived, however for easiness, I ordered my next pint via the app at 7.05pm. When it still hadn't arrived 15 minutes later I went to the bar to chase it up, only to be told by the bar staff that my order hadn't come through. I showed her my banking app as proof of my order. I wasn't offered an apology but was served my drink. At no time were we approached to ask if our meal was OK and when the plates were removed we wasn't asked the either. Had we been, I would have told the member of staff all this. We was contemplating desserts, as the portions weren't sufficient but due to the bad service and overall experience, decided against it. We visited this establishment because it was within walking distance. We could have driven to the nearest Macdonalds and got a better quality burger for a lot less money. Alternatively we could have driven to the nearest Wetherspoons, where I would have got a much better burger, with 6 additional onion rings on the side and my partner could have got the Hunters Chicken equivalent, also with onion rings and the overall bill would have been a good £10 cheaper with better table service and we would have been approached by the staff during our meal, to check that everything was OK. The whole point of having the app on your phone is for ease of use and speed of service but this makes a mockery of the overall experience. What is the app for? Certainly not ease of ordering, as it took some right navigation to place an order!
Having read your reply to my review, (which seems to be your standard reply to negative reviews) I really can't see what calling you is going to achieve. Read moreI don’t normally like to leave negative reviews but I feel really disappointed with our recent experience, especially as it was a very looked forward to birthday treat for my daughter.
We have been coming here for a good few years now and have never had any problems, the food has always been of a good standard, you knew what you were getting so to speak and it was always our families favourite local place to eat.
However we went for a birthday dinner (party of 10) today (30th August) and all left feeling disappointed, 4 of the meals (containing steak) were cooked completely wrong (rare was well-done etc) meaning we had to return the steaks to the kitchen to be rectified, this meant the rest of the accompanying food on our plates (which were left with us) went cold while we waited.
Once receiving the correctly cooked steak we didn’t enjoy it as it was full of fat and very chewy. It just wasn’t consistently cooked, one or two of the meals (the easier to cook ones that just needed warming up) were ok while the rest done on the grill etc weren’t.
As well as the steak issues the sausage was undercooked, while some of the other items on our plates were overcooked not to mention soggy onion rings.
By this point we were a little fed up to say the least, especially as we were literally the only ones eating at the time so there was no excuse in my opinion for this to have happened.
I did mention to both staff members at the time that I wasn’t happy, they did apologise but it doesn’t really change the situation. The service itself was ok and both ladies were friendly & polite (although we were left for ages with the dirty plates in front of us which wouldn’t have bothered me so much if we the food had been good.

Served in a pop glass with a straw, looked like half a glass of coke no ice!! Ordered clucking chicken burgers. Only 2 other people in having a drink, people drinking outside. Waited 40mins for meal. Asked where the pot of mayo was, he went back to kithen came back and said its on the burger already, he asked to check burger!!! He stood there whilst I looked on chicken under chicken and nope there wasn't any. He went and brought a small pot. Can't believe that in the first place he didn't say sorry il get you some, not have me check my food to see if there was some already on. Chips warm and dry. Breaded chicken was dark brown like the food and been cooked a while and re heated. After 40mins you'd thought it would be fresh cooked. Nope. Asked for a pina colada guess what nope couldn't have one not got all ingredients Would we return or recommend NO. Cook needs re training especially in fresh food and presentation. If you advertise cocktail make sure you are stocked and staff trained on how they should be served in correct glass and garnished.
