Always worth a visit for a value for money meal. The atmosphere is relaxed and is good for families but can get a little noisy when busy. Staff are friendly and helpful. The main menu has a good range of starters, mains and deserts that won't break the bank :-) The Carvery option is probably the best deal, which 3 of us chose. The beef might be a little overcooked for some and the veg might need cooking longer for some but overall it is a good choice. The Yorkshire puddings are so big you could live in them and taste great. The rump steak is worth a look but a tenner for steak and chips should indicate that caution should be exercised! I ordered the rump steak, medium rare with no black bits and it was served more on the rare side and was perfect for me. I was a little concerned that a "Steak Knife" was included on the plate. When I could steaks (36 day matured), they can be cut with a spoon and certainly don't need a saw to cut them up. In this case I had to use the saw to cut the meat up, it tasted lovely but there was a lot gristle and fat and it was quite thin but for a tenner I wasn't expecting much better, it was edible. To cook a steak that thin and keep it rare / medium rare is quite an achievement, hats off to the cook. Would love to see what the cook would do to with a nice thick slab of meat. The chips were more like oven chips but were edible with plenty of salt and vinegar on, typical these days unfortunately. The onion rings were awesome. The peas were nice but went cold very quickly. Overall, most people should find that the food is acceptable and unpretentious. The menu seems to be all about giving value for money and being wallet friendly, I think it does this very well. Carvery next...

We have been a lot of times. Firstly, the car park is plenty big enough. Weekdays it's fairly quiet but the carvery is only on until 2.30 then reopens at 4.30 so don't come in the middle if you want carvery, we have forgot a few times. Weekends it's super busy, both in the restaurant and the play area.

It's good prices, not too bad for steak, fish and chips, gammon, lasagne - but veggie options there is a meat free burger, halloumi fries and bang bang cauliflower. Being a veggie and not having carvery can be pretty disappointing.

There is lots of drinks available, I'd say they're on the pricey side of things but everything is going up. There are kids drinks from squash or milk to slush. I will note, if ordering a slush bring your own metal or reusable straw as your straw will disintegrate.

There is a wacky warehouse. Its pretty small and not a lot to do in it, but I'd say if your kids like enclosed twirly slides and punch bags they will love it. There are 2 permanent Ball pools and a separate space for under 2s. I've included pictures of the 3 areas.

You can buy a monthly or 6 monthly pass for the wacky and visit many of them around South yorkshire. We have found a few better than here, but this is the closest so most convenient.

They do a tots club which include painting sticking and gluing, this is on during kids being at school, but great for preschoolers or homeschooling children.

There are pub tables in the wacky side, which...

Where to start! Walked in on a Saturday morning and thought someone had died staff didn't even acknowledge use at all.i asked if we just sat where we wanted seeing as we was just stood there looking at them gone out, got a simple one word snotty answer back "yes". Next up carvery..if the meat was cut any thinner I'd be charged with carrying a bladed object very stingey plus same old miserable staff serving it! Rest of it dry from been sat under heat lamps and I wasn't the only one complaining others received dirty plates, moaning about stingey meat servings and dry veg!. Bar staff serving drinks was nice and polite about the only good thing I've got to say. Thought I'd take little one into play area for a bit. Walked in Free of charge she's under a year old but very active crawling about, we wasn't even in there 15 minutes there was at least 8 year olds jumping about in the under 2 and under 5 section almost jumping on my daughter numerous times and it's in a state of disrepair to be honest. Wiped my feet on the way out and won't be back,oh and not to forget same old miserable staff in play area ! They either need replacing or paying more or a better work environment as nearly every member of staff in that place that day had a face like a slapped arse didn't feel at all welcome and I am not a moaner at all very rare I leave bad reviews unless I feel its needed for site managers to...

Now this is a tough review based on two visits. First off the pub is lovely. Clean and inviting with friendly staff. On the first visit we had a carvery which was without doubt the BEST carvery I've ever had. Hot and fresh and the beef literally melted in the mouth. Visit two we popped in for breakfast and my god it was vile! Tough sausages clearly reheated from the day before. Toast black on one side and white on the other. Bacon as tough as leather. On balance the carvery was worthy of 5 stars but one deducted for the awful breakfast. Sort that and this is one of the best eateries around

Ordered a few starters (nachos & spicy corn). The nachos came with chilli sauce from the main that had filtered out all the juice to the bottom of the plate alongside the corn, having no cutlery or napkins. The mixed grill had no seasoning whatsoever with the rare steak arriving cold. The light fixture in our section above the table was constantly flickering on and off, making the section very dark. Service was also slow for the drinks too (est 4-5 mins) TLTR: Looks appealing from the outside but you could genuinely go for a McDonald's across the road and save money and time.
