Review based on one visit. Honestly, I was blow away. The chap behind the bar and the lady organising front of house and kitchen were great. We had never been before. I called ahead, it's Sunday, asked if we could get a table booked and they said it was fine. We arrived soon after and the table was being set up, amazing customer service. They had an amazing quality highchair for our 1 year old too which made the meal time run smoothly. The kids wouldn't have eaten anything off the kids menu (we dont eat meat and they dont particularly eat fishfingers, fussy I know), so we split and adult Cod meal between them and they were fine with that. Food wise, top quality and homecooked, fresh. The cod was absolutly delicious, even better than the sea side. Was some great nostalgia from my childhood to visit a small local pub with good grub. Prices were fair. Good range of soft and alcoholic drinks. The only negative point, would be the lack of baby changing area. Or at least we couldn't find one. But to be honest, we just nipped out and changed our son in the car. No harm. Was great Sunday afteroon. Highly recommended.

I was there yesterday with a friend. The food was home cooked & delicious I had meat & potato pie carrots & peas home made jug of gravy which was also delicious & home cooked fat chips perfect comfort food after our walk. Very rare I eat pies / meat out but it was just how I would have made it with good ingredients & the landlord & Sue who cooked it were so friendly. RECOMMENDED The gravy & mint sauce were put on after i took this picture 🤗

Very tasty home cooked food. The minced beef pie, real chips, and mushy peas were delicious. Also, a steal at two meals for £12! Warm welcome and excellent service. Definitely looking forward to visiting for Sunday lunch!

Been today for ‘Sunday carvery’. Got offered a choice of beef, lamb or chicken. Asked for chicken for my daughter and beef for the rest of us. We asked for chicken as well thinking it would be like any normal Sunday carvery where you could have all 3. But that isn’t the case. It was a chicken breast. Only veg was green beans and cauliflower. Was no seasoning on any food and everything was frozen food. It was like a frozen ready meal from Aldi. My partners Yorkshire pudding was served that frozen he couldn’t even cut it or put a fork in it. Absolutely 0 flavour. To say we paid £9 for that is just not ok. Could of bought 6 ready meals for that price and would probably be better. Safe to say we won’t ever be back. Worst meal I’ve ever had. Staff was rude when we mentioned how we felt about the food and just said well you can have a...

I rang to book a meal was told they did do meals around 1800hrs on a Sunday. The meal I had constited of processed food . The meat potatoes, yorks and vegetables were not good. The vegetables were burnt the yorks were too well done with a large amount of processed potatoes there was v little flavour in the meal in fact I left 75% of the meal bcs of its taste. I'm hoping this is a 1 off bcs I had heard the meals were good. I've found out last meals are served at 1600 so I think if that is so the meal we had was just a warm up from what was left on that day . Nothing to me was freshly cooked at the time...
