The Ship Inn — Restaurant in Rotherham

Lunch for four adults from out of town Having read previous reviews, decided to give The Ship a try, what a little gem. The food was very good, I had the sizzler platter of the day (chicken in black bean sauce), the two guys had scampi and other group member had beef bourginoun. Served hot and as described on the very reasonably priced menu. There was a good choice of mains ( kitchen too small for starters to be prepared) and a choice of desserts (two hot and several ices). Will never go to this place again. . Rude staff...was told we couldn't have a drink if we didn't have food. . How bizzzare. . I have lived in Greasbrough many years. . Always went in the ship.. never again. . We were out fir a walk with family. . And decided to call at ship for a drink . We were to big a crowd .. all we wanted was a quiet drink.. this place presumes everyone in a big crowd is rowdy. . How rude. . So we went to crown. Friendly staff.. who didn't mind family crowds. . We had our dink and went on our way.. no loudness wot so ever.. we had a baby with us for goodness sakes.. a quiet drink is all we wanted. . So if u love family strolls with ur family. . Dont call at ship...

Was expecting a simple pub from the outside. Parking is available but I had a right job getting out of the tiny car park behind the building.

Food was a mix. Had a cheese burger which had no real flavour and needed condiments. The other food my guest ordered looked better. Good chips.

Only one person working it seemed and he had a lot to do. He butted into our conversation at least 3 times which was rude.
