Heard great things about this Village pub in Wolston, now under new management. We received a warm welcome by the new landlord as we arrived. The attentive staff took our drinks order straight away and showed us to our table. The pub has a lovely relaxed feel and is clean and fresh with some lovely touches in the seating, layout and decor. We had a couple of starters to share and then the Sunday lunch and were super impressed with the quality and generosity of the roast. Crispy onions on the mash, stilton running through the cauliflower cheese, red cabbage, pigs in blankets and succulent roast beef made this one of the best we've had. Can't wait to return to try the mid week sharing platters and burgers. The Half Moon celebrates the best of British pubs with great food and outstanding service....great job everyone!

Very very nicely surprised at how good this was. New management has taken over and the Sunday Roast is divine!! Still has a locals feel in the bar area but a good vibe Staff are very friendly and attentive Toilets and communal areas have been renovated and are clean and inviting Roast was absolutely delicious Only gripe really was the sides need to be more plentiful (I forgot to take photos) as there wasnt really enough for all of us. Husbands parsnips were also but cold but he got over that But everything tasted very nice on the plate. Loved options of the mash with onions and the pigs in blankets. Meat is high quality and well cooked. Nothing was cheaped out on. Genuinely a very nice dinner and we shall go again

Brilliant, we went along to see the Toby brothers. What a great performance, would recommend visiting the half moon great friendly staff. Half way through the show, unfortunately a child hurt himself, but the landlord was right. there with a first aid kit, making sure he was okay, when the child was made okay, the landlord gave a ice lolly to him so kind and caring.

Ate here a number of times and popped in for drinks as we live in the next village . A warm friendly atmosphere with a great seletion of drinks . My wife loves the decor and says it feels so homely and warm . The staff are polite and talkative. Felt like we'd known them for years! Prices are reasonable for the area and the quality of the pub and food certainly justify the cost of the menu if not underselling it ! The food is always spot on . Portions are generous and the flavours are exceptional. Every single item on the roast is perfect . If we could afford to eat here more we would but times are tough. So as our family treat , we visit when we can as i know the quality and value are unmatched for miles around . Dont miss out ....
