Nestled in the heart of Rugby, The Royal Oak Restaurant & Pub is a culinary haven that offers a truly remarkable dining experience. Celebrating its reputation for excellence, my recent visit to this establishment was nothing short of awesome. The moment you step into The Royal Oak, the inviting aroma of delectable dishes wafts through the air, setting the stage for a gastronomic adventure. The interior is a perfect blend of classic and contemporary design, creating a welcoming ambiance that caters to both casual diners and those seeking a more formal atmosphere. The attentive and friendly staff enhance the overall experience, providing impeccable service from the moment you take a seat. The extensive menu showcases a diverse array of dishes, each crafted with precision and care. The flavors burst with freshness, highlighting the chef's commitment to quality ingredients and culinary mastery. From savory starters to mouthwatering mains, every bite is a testament to the kitchen's dedication to delivering a memorable dining journey. The calm and pleasant atmosphere adds to the charm, making The Royal Oak an ideal spot for intimate dinners or celebratory gatherings. Ample parking space ensures convenience for patrons, eliminating the stress of searching for a spot. In summary, The Royal Oak Restaurant & Pub in Rugby is a culinary gem that excels in delivering a delightful dining experience. With its tastefully designed interior, welcoming ambiance, attentive staff, and, of course, the irresistibly tasty food, this establishment stands out as a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts. Consistently good pub food, we visit several times a year and it never fails to deliver. They offer a loyalty card which is stamped after each visit and, when fully stamped, it entitles you to a free main course. The portion sizes are on the large side (which suits me!) if you're a small eater you will struggle with more than just a main course. I'd definitely recommend sharing the camembert between two (pictured). There are a number of vegetarian options, of which I highly recommend the veggie lasagna (I actually prefer it to the beef). If you can manage a dessert, I'd highly recommend the Movenpick ice creams from the specials menu. Reservations are advised, especially at peak times, as it tends to get quite busy. People in wheelchairs may struggle, not sure if it's possible to come through another entrance but the restaurant area is up a flight of steps. Having said that the bar area is on ground level and it's possible to eat here too. Worth giving them a call to ask. During winter the restaurant area can be a little on the chilly side, so if you feel the cold make sure you've got a jumper (it's never uncomfortably cold mind). There are two car parks, both of which are free to use and I've never struggled to find a space.

A lovely country pub with surprisingly good food! My wife and I came here for the first time 14/05/2024. We were seated around 18:30 but by 19:30 virtually every table was filled and it was a Tuesday, so book ahead! The decoration is classy - rustic barrels, contemporary pictures, classic pub tables and carpet. A really nice feel and atmosphere with some quirks like the glass topped well. We had nachos to start and they seemed home-made. Big tortilla chunks with flavoursome sauce. We added the "crispy chicken" but it wasn't crispy. The sauce was also quite spicy but we enjoyed it. For main I had lasagne. It was very flavoursome. I had it with chips and salad which were both lovely. Might have been nice to have a littke chunk of garlic bread, and I never understand raw red onion in a salad as that's all you taste after, but it was lovely! The staff were attentive and friendly for the most part. They kind of forgot about us towards the end when it got really busy but it was super easy to flag someone down for pudding. Overall we had a great time and will likely go back again.

Came here for a dinner with my wife and 5 year old daughter this evening. We haven't been here in a while and we're looking forward to enjoying a enjoyable family meal at the start of the school holidays. First of all the menu was very poor we didn't realise that it was a reduced offering due to kitchen refurbishment. Unfortunately our meal wasn't very pleasant I had a steak and ale pie, my wife had a Stilton burger and my daughter had chicken nuggets and chips. The menu states that you can choose chips, you don't get chips you get fries. y wife ordered her burger with extra Stilton when it arrived we played a game of hunt the Stilton, we then sent it back. even when it was returned to our table it looked a sad excuse for a burger swimming in grease and from.my wife's comments the bun tasted like cardboard. My pie was very salty and dehydrated peas. Both adult meals came with the same amount of fries as the child's portion.

The member of staff that served us came across as bored and generally uninterested in providing a pleasant dining experience. Neither my wife or I could be bothered in complaining as the staff were obviously not interested.

What used to be a lovely place to eat has gone massively downhill. With better options local to here we won't...
