Ad/pr invite We got a chance to check out the brand new restaurant ahead of their official opening and we were so impressed by how family friendly it is! Family friendly things I loved: ✴️Popcorn for the kids ON ARRIVAL so no waiting around for the kids while we look at the menu 🙏🏻 ✴️Water at the table with small glasses the kids could actually drink out of ✴️ A whole activity booklet with loads to do inside ✴️(reusable) Plastic cutlery for the kids ✴️A whole roll of kitchen roll on the table IYKYK 🫠 ✴️Highchairs available ✴️Baby changing facilities available ✴️Outdoor play area with seating next to it (it was raining so didn't get a chance to use it but looked good! 👍🏼) ✴️ A CINEMA!? The kids were so so excited to take their popcorn to the little cinema room while we were waiting for the food to arrive. Such a good idea 💡 👧🏻It was so nice to go out to eat somewhere that's so well set up for kids. They were treated brilliantly and were so welcomed by all the staff. Everyone was so friendly and chatty with them. 🍔The food selection was great too, even as a veggie I still had lots of options and struggled to choose! 😋🤤 Mr Off Out had the biggest burger I've ever seen - think Scooby Doo 🤣🙄 🍨The kids portions were great and for dessert they absolutely loved going to the gumball machines with their American quarters to get toppings for their Fro-co (Hickory's signature Frozen Custard!) 🇺🇸 The atmosphere was so fun, and the hospitality was beyond compare. We had such a lovely time! Thank you so much @Hickory’s Smokehouse for inviting us to check out your new home! 😘🇺🇸🍔🧑🏼‍🍳🍨 #offoutnottingham #familyfriendlyrestaurant #nottinghamrestaurant

Went to celebrate my Mum's birthday, on the date of her birthday. American themed steakhouse style is nicely decorated and clean. Also, noted some rules at the front of house regarding attire, which seemed fair. We all really liked how you get a little bag of popcorn at the beginning to start while you wait for your drinks. We were served by Ty, who was very friendly, attentive and took our orders promptly. However, we suspect Ty went on break because suddenly she was no longer there and we were virtually ignored. I'm not sure if someone covered her section in her absence, but it definitely didn't seem like there was. Our starter plates were not removed prior to mains and were still not removed when we were served our mains (you can see them in the back, next to my purse, of my second picture). We were only three of us, so we had the space to move things around the table, but if we were a group of four, we would've had no room. We also ended up with a ton of glasses as they were also not collected, nor was our water refilled at any point. We felt like we kept having to ask for things and would actively be avoided by staff. For example, we had to collar whoever was in our vicinity to get a second and third round of drinks. We also asked three separate members of staff for takeaway boxes to take our leftover food away before we eventually got our box (Ty returned at this point and promptly resolved our requests), one server in particular was about to take our plates away, offered to get the box (didn't get the box), then disappeared and avoided coming anywhere near us again, in spite of looking in our direction and serving other tables in our section. When Ty returned, the table was cleared entirely and service resumed and we were no longer ignored, but by that point we were about to pay the bill, so. The food and drinks did come out promptly, and was really tasty. My brother says that Hickory's has the best burgers and sandwiches in Nottingham, and my Mum said her brisket was really tender. My mac and cheese wasn't overly saucy, but very gooey. All meals were presented beautifully too. We also really appreciate the donut for Mum's birthday as we've tried really hard to make this birthday special for my Mum due to personal circumstances. My brother said service hadn't been like this when he has previously visited. But for my Mum and I, it was our first time visiting, and we were quite let down with the service. Overall, I'd like to go back because the food was really nice, but the service was a huge let down.

Finally! Our first time at Hickory’s after being recommended a millions times by family & friends. Unfortunately, it wasn’t as good as we’d hoped.. Both of us were so looking forward to a bit of brisket as we’d both heard so many things about it but it just didn’t live up to the standards we expected. Whether this was down to it being a Saturday night or because it was rather busy and this was just a one-off then I’m upset it was us that got dealt the short straw. My review still being 4-star is all down to service we were greeted with, the staff are amazing and it was no fault to them about the food! Everyone was so polite and welcoming and the waitress was lovely too. The atmosphere in Hickory’s is brilliant and we loved the style of the place. Everything there made it feel so real, and it was a lovely place to sit. The fries were also bang-on. The Hickory’s BBQ sauce was nice and the Mac & Cheese was good too. The brisket on the other hand just wasn’t it. It seemed overcooked to the point it was dry, which was a shame. Luckily the Bourbon gravy was there to save my day but my wife didn’t like that either so was stuck eating dry meat. With it being our first time eating and trying brisket as I said I hope this is not the way it is supposedly meant to be served. I thought the way that things were cooked in Hickory’s meant that everything would be juicy, and melt-in-the-mouth sort of food and this was not the case. Sadly I wouldn’t go out of my way to return to Hickory’s nor would I add it to my list of places to go out to eat based on our experience (with the food) tonight.

Walked in well received by Manager Joe very polite smile on his face fully clean in appearance. Person asked for a big table as had a idea would be ordering few things don't like moving table set up.

Nice clean table nothing under no dust menu brilliant clean no sauces stickness other people mess. Lay out was wonderful menu different idea very handy Drinks were spot on just ask at the time would u need a straw. Its the little things that count.

Order big share platter as wanted to have a good time try everything been along time since been to a hickory smoke pit. Don't take it the wrong way vegetation people mite feel bit out of place.

Dan brought the food with Mecy very professionally laughing kind to my young lad asked if he needed anything and check back was great. Had shakes and drink

Food very cooked moist of the bone brisket bone just came off ribs both bit more sauces would be great jalapeño red cheese America filled snap succulent needed napkins plus plastic cover. Corner maple bread cake sent me back in years thank you chef hope it's not brought in. Pulled bbq baked pork bread crums season beans pot that what you call Western food. Onion rings need to be bigger please and find a way to bring it on one big plater as the table is not big enough. You feel sorry nobody didn't do a test run day and have waiters and services how it would happen.

Mercy however did execution well I haven't seen a representative for hospitality like this in awhile. Chef at the front very clean back spash clean sparkling other chef in the back working hard.

Thank you for a wonderful time will come again Joe Dan Macy looking for the same incredible service and pipping...
