Astalet Cafe — Restaurant in Rushmoor

We were the first to enter the cafe on a damp and miserable day in August. We needed food and a place to hang out whilst our car was being serviced. Breakfast sandwiches order which were good with ample filling. The bread was super soft and fresh. Toilets are good but there is a step to access. My only grumble, I think they put the milk in my tea before the water. Never put milk in first, it needs to stew before the milk is added. If they didn’t do that they should never presume how much milk to put in someone’s tea. It may look fine in the photo that I’ve added but you couldn’t taste the tea and it was very milky. Lovely cafe, staff friendly and courteous, I had ham egg chips and beans, tea was extra,and no bread or toast comes with the meal,but there was three good sized slices of fresh ham , the beans obviously not hienz and had been reheated, but tasted ok, I woul have preferred if at least 1 slice of toast or bread &butter was included, and that beans hadn't been reheated, best to have put 3 or 4 table spoon of beans from tin in small bowl and pop in microwave for 1 min, apart from this food...

The cafe is always clean and the staff welcoming and smiley. There are large windows allowing lots of sunlight in so all their plants look happy and healthy too which adds to the pleasant environment. The portions are generous and I always leave feeling nourished and satisfied. Since working from home I have become a more regular visitor as it is nice to get out of the house and eat a good meal whilst soaking in the gentle chatter of the surroundings. A lovely...
