Great little eatery in Aldershot off the main parade of shops. I had the Mutton curry prepared mild without excessive chillies with paratha, superbly cooked, tender and flavourful. Something else which I tried was the Veg Thukpa a noodle soup which was tasty, wholesome and which was also excellent. Service was quick and very friendly staff who efficiently explained the offering and took order. It's not the ritz so expect a basic clean environment which can get noisy with the TV showing Nepalese popular music and dance shows. Toilet was clean and there is a place around the back to wash your hands, so definitely use your fingers to experience an authentic Nepalese meal. We ordered the egg and veg fried rice, chicken noodles, momo and paratha. The rice was delicious with a range of different spices and was incredibly tasty. The noodles were nice but not as good as the rice, and the paratha was fresh though a bit bland. They are generous with their spices in the food, so better to ask for mild as you’ll get medium. The proportions were good for what you paid for and the atmosphere was pleasant enough. The service was good, though they didn’t check on us during the meal and we couldn’t get their attention to order another drink or get the bill so went up to the till to pay. Om restaurant in Gurkha Cup 2024 was a rip-off. I gave £20 note cash when Bimala Tamang, the proprietor, said it was a total of £8 for the food. She said she didn’t have change. So I paid by contactless card. But they had charged us £22 instead of £8. They hadn’t given any receipts and I was not bothered either as a matter of trust. When I enquired about it on the phone, Bimala Tamang, the proprietor, was so rude and accused me instead. I would have happily not asked for the refund if she was a bit polite and courteous.
