Sizzling Wok — Restaurant in Rushmoor

Rude service! I didn't order, I left.... walked up to get a chippy with the mother, she orders her food and the women give the cook the order. On her way back the phone decided to ring remembering I'm still stood at the counter (mum sat down) the lady blanks me and answers the phone making me wait while she takes that order. A couple of minutes pass so she's still On the phone so I thought right I'm not ordering and sat down with the mother. She then get off the phone and again goes to the back and gives the order. Without a sorry or anything she goes "are you together?" I replied "yes but I wanted to order but decided against it now" she then laughed. While waiting for my mum's food two more people enter and once again the lady was out back but could see the customers. She then stuck her hand right out with one finger up and said "one minute" she then came out pottered around a little before she decided she want to serve them. Sorry inbetween my mum's order and there's a bloke come to pick his food up and told her his name she was just turning to call for the food and the phone rang which she decided to once again answer and make him wait. Couldn't believe it she just didn't care about her service or manners....

Normally use a different delivery service but they are closed on Tuesdays. Sizzling Wok came on recommendation of a friend with quick service and decent food. Ordered online via their website - 55 mins later, nothing. No phone call, no email, bearing in mind it’s a Tuesday, I doubt they were rushed off their feet! I called up to chase the order, not an overly polite man on the phone who told me it would be another 10-15 minutes and hung up! 25 mins later - door knock - FOOD!!! Explained I wasn’t happy, driver said they are short staffed. Asked if he thought it was hard to pick up the phone and tell me that and that food could be 85 minutes. Reply was sorry! That’s it! Excellent fish and chips from the Sizzling Wok. Actually even better than from Oh My Cod.

The large cod is absolutely huge with nice light, crisp batter on perfectly cooked tender fish. The chips were really good - nice and crisp without being overcooked and not greasy. The food was well packed in a cardboard tray so didn’t go soggy on the way home.

Great value too at £10.10 for the large cod, chips and mushy peas (cash only). Highly recommended.

The fish menu is a bit limited with only cod on offer, no haddock or plaice etc. but all the other chip shop staples...
