EDIT: Changing from a 4 to a 5 Star review as weâve come back a few times now and service and food has been incredible. They listened to the feedback and have adjusted. Incredible place!!
My wife and I visited the Queenâs Arms in Eccles and the food was absolutely incredible. She ordered the Chicken Thigh Katsu Curry and I had the Wagyu Beef Burger special. Both dishes were packed with flavour and genuinely some of the best curry weâve had.
The only downside was the timing of service. My wifeâs main arrived first, but my Wagyu burger didnât come out until more than 25 minutes later. In the meantime, we had to share her meal, which wasnât ideal. When I asked, the waiter simply said âoh yeah, that takes longerâ without an apology.
I was tempted to rate 3 stars because of this, but honestly the food was too good not to give it 4. Just a small bit of feedback for the owners: it would really improve the experience if mains for the same table could come out together, so couples can enjoy their meals at the same time.

Read moreVisited The Queens Arms today at lunch time. This is a home from home place for newly arrived Hong Kong people, with a warm, welcoming feeling given by the staff, whether local or from Hong Kong . The selection of beers is excellent, including draft Sapporo which is a rare find, also wonderful Brixton Ale and Black Sheep beer. The food is Japanese style and I can attest to the perfection and attention to detail given in the preparation and cooking. I had a tempura pork loin, accompanied by a delicious, not overpowering, katsu curry sauce dip. The pork loin was truly outstanding, crispy and perfectly cooked. The pub dÊcor is old fashioned in style and is probably a modernisation work in progress. However, if you want to still see a pub, as a pubs used to be in the day, with a cordial atmosphere this is the place...

The food was generally good but also had weaknesses. The burger is served without a bun, yet was tasty, really good fries as well. The soft shell crab said 4 pieces on the menu but was served as one, cut into 4 pieces. I can contend with this, but the biggest frustration was the service - they served one dish and then I had to wait 30 minutes for the burger, which based on comments, is a regular occurrence.
On giving feedback, instead of apologising, it seemed like more justifying. If itâs the normal time, you should tell customers in advance and then bring out all dishes together. Not the...
