I want to be fair as I love it here especially after a dog walk but there a few niggles since it has been taken over in the last 6 months or so. Dogs are no longer allowed inside, ok on a sunny day when we can sit out but we have to leave him in the car otherwise if we fancy a pint after a walk on the moss. Not a massive issue but a shame as he's always come inside with us. The decor is really nice and you can tell the new owners are trying to raise the standards which is good however, I do think there needs to be a bit more of a bar area, it feels strange sitting in the restaurant for a quick drink after walking the dog. It's a big room and just feels a bit open and sterile. If there's not many people in conversations carry across the whole room. The ladies toilets also aren't as clean as they used to be. Food has massively improved both in the choice and the quality. The menu is varied with good specials, everything is well cooked and tasty. Generous portions and the roasts look great. The staff are all lovely, professional, friendly and the service is always excellent. My main bugbear is the amount of private functions that are being held there now. You only know when you turn up and see the board outside. Closed today (saturday) and was also closed Thursday. There have been 4 occasions I have turned up over the last few months to find it closed to the public. Prior warning would be good i.e put the board out at the beginning of the week, update google/social media. There was a man with his two kids on thursday who were very disappointed. Understand businesses have to make money but your regulars are important too, another reason for a separate bar area maybe? Overall though the improvements are noticeable and I will keep coming back, I will definitely be trying...
Read moreVery nice place. Decor was modern and nice.
Reservation hadn’t been put on their list, nearly didn’t let us sit in. Had to show the emails to prove we had booked.
Food was disappointing. Battered black pudding had hardly any batter on.
The fish from the fish and chips came out as two separate fillets. It was dry, chewy and depressing. Tasted frozen. Tartare sauce didn’t arrive at table. Could have helped with the dryness.
My wife’s lasagna looked okay but I didn’t taste.
Ordered extra portion of chips. Didn’t arrive but was charged for. (Wife had to embarrassingly correct them).
Waitress was abrupt to verge of being rude. I had three year old twin girls with me. The look on her face suggested that kids should be seen and not heard. Attitude far from the family welcoming atmosphere that the aerodrome offers.
Long and short, if you don’t want children there… don’t have a kids menu.
Will likely visit the aerodrome again, but will be...
Read moreWe have just visited The Club House for Sunday dinner. What a wonderful experience from beginning to end. From initially entering, the staff could not do enough to make my wife and I welcome. We were shown to our table spot on the booked time. We never felt pressured however the service was very good. Roast beef and Yorkshire...Very nice! The facilities were good. The car parking was plentiful. Toilets ( disabled) were clean and easy to use. I would recommend trying here. I don't think you will be...
