Having attended every Friday with work colleagues the new changes have meant we will now have to find a new venue.
The new menu (whilst expensive) looks nice and it actually has a vegan option which would be better than a chip sandwich one of our friends has to have weekly. However on our first visit after the new menu it’s been made clear that it’s no available after 2pm.
The very limited 3 sandwiches, 3 toasties and 3 deep fried sharers is all you can have. If you are vegan you can’t eat, if you are vegetarian it’s a cold sandwich or deep fried food. If you want a healthy option salad isn’t even on the menu anymore so the Greek salad can’t be eaten even before 2pm.
Whilst we welcomed change you cannot expect most people to eat the food at lunchtime only, what about those of us who always work at that time. It’s incredibly disappointing and we are hoping this decision is changed before you lose...
Read moreA little gem of British Railway Heritage which has been beautifully restored by its owner and volunteers from the local community and now attracts many visitors to its lovely cafe set within the old station building..... but beware because although it boosts free parking, the reality is that the car park, is absolutely full from around 8 a.m including the one which is designated for users of the station cafe only, and although there is no notice to advise that it is patrolled by a Car park attendant, my first and probably my only visit here resulted in my receiving a £100 parking fine for my short 2 hour visit where I was adjudged to have parked in a no parking area but in fact I had allowed an "all day" train commuter to have the last parking spot and then parked my car so he could get out if needed but in reality he was parked until 6.30 p.m and I was leaving...
Read moreHaving been invited to the bar at first I declined. What's the point of going to Irlam I thought, but after being persuaded we made our way to Oxford Rd Station. I paid for my return ticket at the price of £5.70. The price of some awful beer in City Centre Manchester. The train took about 20 minutes. Having arrived we sat outside at first as it was a beautiful day. We went to the bar the staff were very enthusiastic and helpful they offered 4 pints of Amstel Dutch Beer for £10, a bargain. The building is the old station it was very well arranged and quite posh inside the toilets were very clean as was the bar. The decor was very good old Train posters and other Railway ephemera. We perused the menu we diced to have some sweet potato fries they were great. Having the train times on a screen was very helpful as well please make your way there with an open...
