Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Sandwell

Had to do this review really as was disgusted by Costa coffee in tesco cradley heath today. We go here quite regularly and it only takes one bad visit to lose custermors. No problem before. But today. Two members of staff, I think one was training, fairly quiet. There was five empty tables to chose from. I chose the only one that was clean for my family. The others did not get wiped in all the time that we were there, though the staff didn't look too busy. Standing behind the counter with their hands in their pockets looking bored. We were served in paper cups rather than the mugs they usually serve in. Not sure why as there were loads of (actually clean looking cups) stacked up. Maybe the guys serving us didn't want to wash them? As the guy was pulling the paper cups apart from the stack they were in he was putting his hands right inside the cups to pull them apart which turned my stomach but I had promised my kids a treat so tried not to think of it. As I waited for the drinks I noticed how mucky the back of the serving area was, both on the counters and with rubbish all over the floor. I work in food retail myself and would hate for custermors to see this. After all, it was not like the men there were busy. As reffered to before they were standing looking bored. There was a sign saying they were closing early due to lack of staff. I'm sure at least one of these two could have at least cleaned around. Very, very, very bad. ICE COOLER - NOT SO COOL :( Called in today for two Ice Coolers, only to be served with two summer drinks made with ice that had melted so badly, they had to scoop out the remaining ice from the water!!! This ended with two coolers not so cool, and just full of water, no ice at all - come on Costa, surely you can afford to use fresh ice surely - won't be trying another that's for sure. ...

Went twice in the same day. Early afternoon it was busy but the staff were all very friendly and helpful even though the work must have been hectic. I went back later for a Black Forest Frostino when it read quieter and again the staff were lovely to deal with, very fast with orders. I'll make this Costa a regular stop when I...
