The experience that i received tonight was utterly abysmal. So, first off, im diabetic which means i cant regulate blood glucose and im prone to something called hypoglycemia otherwise called a ‘hypo’. Hypos can be extremely dangerous and can cause seizures and death.
So back to my experience; on 14/07/2021 @ 10:30pm i entered the restaurant as the queue was relatively large- around 10 cars infront of the drivethru. I spoke to a short older asian lady explaining i was having a hypo and that i needed a sugary drink. The lady refused to serve me and said i had to wait in the drive thru, i explained to her that i can potentially die and that i shouldnt be driving with my blood sugar being as low as it was, again, to which she replied ‘theres nothing i can do, you cant have anything, i have other customers waiting’
The lack of knowledge this lady had working in the food industry about such a chronic health issue is appalling. That would be somewhat forgivable if after i explained my situation she would have understood the severity of it and dealt with it in a good manner. This lady 100% should not be working with customers with such attitude, i didnt get her name however- given the date time and description of the woman, im sure you can find out who it was so she can be dealt with accordingly.
You are working in the health industry and lack of knowledge of such a huge life threatening condition from the employees is worrying, especially from such a reputable franchise. There are first aid at work courses that can be tailored to businesses and their risk assessment- i know this because i teach it. Ive been diabetic for a year and im now 22 years old and i god forbid that same experience is had with someone who ends up being less fortunate than me and having serious consequences as a result of negligence from one of your staff members. Fortunately someone drove me to a nearby petrol station and i got it sorted out. Lond story short, the lady who i dealt with showed a great lack of empathy but also accountability for her actions and it made me feel for the first time that someone doesnt care about my health, it affected me physically but also mentally. It needs to be rectified
Feel free to get in touch with any questions as i am more than happy to explain events or discuss possible first aid training for your crew members.
If you provide me with an email im more than happy to help so awareness is raised.- ive got a photo for reference of my blood...
Read moreWorst McDonald’s in Birmingham. I had issues with the branch in the past and stayed away and would drive a further 5 minutes to neighbouring stores instead. They would give u stone cold food. Give you the wrong order or never have the item I wanted ranging from a new type of burger. Chocolate muffin, milkshake or some other item. Today after probably not going to this store for 2 years I was in a rush so I decided to go in the drive through thinking nothing could possibly go wrong. I ordered 5 chicken selects meal when asked and a apple pie with water. “THATS FINE” said the lady is there anything eles. I asked if the fry’s can be hot “THATS FINE” again she says. Drive up to the window and pay then collect my order and go home. When I reach home and open the bag I notice there is no apple pie. So I call the store, some one that I am not convinced was the manager answered. I explained that I am missing a apple pie. She then says I didn’t order one. I told her I did. Her response is “IF YOU DIDNT PAY FOR IT THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO”
I explained that I ordered one on the drive through and the cashier obviously didn’t put it through when I said. this person then says “ITS YOUR JOB TO CHECK WHATS ON THE SCREEN WHEN YOU ORDER TO SEE IF ITS CORRECT NOT THE CASHIERS”
So I didn’t know as a customer going to McDonald’s I myself have a job. I didn’t whisper apple pie to this cashier for whatever reason she has not put it through it’s not my fault it’s hers. This person on the end of the phone continuously stated the cashier doesn’t need to repeat my order and it’s my job to read what’s on the screen as a customer when ordering. Does this person know if I am dyslexic do I know how to read. Do blind people accompany a driver on the drive through and place orders without being able to read back a order. How many people that actually order at McDonald’s drive through check everything that’s on the screen. Is a meal and a apple pie that complicated for this store to get it right? I will stick to the better neighbouring stores that actually have staff that listen and don’t have patronising staff...
Read moreIf I could rate this restaurant 0 stars I would. What an absolute joke of a place. Chaos, and don't understand why because it wasn't even busy.
Staff don't know what they are doing. Felt like they were straight from leaving school at 3.30 today and asked to fill in a shift.
Waited 45 minutes for food which had obviously been forgot about, we did asked after 25 minutes. At which point asked for a full refund. We then had to tell them exactly what we had ordered to get the refund. Asked to speak to the manager which took another ten minutes. The cashier came back with our refund in cash even though we paid on card. Still with no manager. When he did show up he wasn't as useful as a chocolate teapot. Said he'd come in and had to organise staff because they didn't know where to work. Isn't it obvious you work on a station you are trained to do. If you cook fries then work on fries, if you do burgers work on burgers. It's not rocket science.
Orders left all over the counter with food customers had decided to leave.
Will never use this place again. Seems like they have spent a fortune doing it up and getting the money back by...
