Stopped here on the drive to Edinburgh. Had a good rating and free parking.

The food was genuinely some of the worst I've ever had. I had the 'gourmet' cheese on toast. Description said sourdough bread. What I was served was clearly just 3 slices of white bread, which had missed the toaster. The cheese topping was fine but overall it was vile. My husband had the pepperoni pizza and it was undercooked, doughy and oily. The waitress seemed shocked he didn't want it boxed up to take home when he left most of it. I ordered a pot of tea and I'm unsure what was wrong with the milk but before setting it down she immediately said oh ill get you another milk and wandered off.

Service was quite slow and they brought out the drinks at the same time as the food.

Would not recommend this place. I'd say do the 5 minute walk to the highstreet and find...

Softice tastes good. The Milkshake was mostly milk, it should have been a chocolate milkshake, however the amount of chocolate was pretty minimal. Edit: The toilets are public toilets and not part of the review, as they are maintained by the council. However the council should be more attentive to the toilets as they give a bad impression The mens toilets could do with a cleaning.

Edit 2: Thanks for the offer about a free milkshake 👍 We will however probably not come that way on our tour. I think that if there was plenty syrup on the what you had left it wasn't properly mixed before it was handed out. The staff in the kiosk where we ordered talked about not knowing how to do...

Best omelette we've had! What a great little place. Loads of free parking, easy to find and it off the A68 so a perfect place to stop on the road to Edinburgh.

We called in for a coffee and thought the breakfasts looked so good that we had to try one. We had the omelette with cheese, chorizo and tomatoes. Really tasty and filling.

We both had black coffees and they were hot, strong and full of rich flavours.

On our way back to the car, full and satisfied, the owner came up to us, worried that we were leaving without being seated because they were busy. His concern that we hadn't had the best service. We were happy to reassure him that we'd had a great...

This place is great. We dropped in with a dog in a pushchair and they were happy to seat us in the cafe. I ordered an old day breakfast pizza which really was one another level. My son had a full Scottish breakfast which he was blown away with. My wife had a cheese and tomato pizza and my daughter had a ham and cheese toastie. Everything was fantastic and then we went for cake afterwards too 🤣 Picked up some bread to take away along with a slab if focaccia. We enjoyed the food and service so much, we came back the next day where I got a haggis and cheese panning which was a taste revelation. Can't recommend this place highly enough, thanks for everything

A great place to stop off for lunch. It’s dog friendly which is a great advantage. It was quite busy at lunchtime. The waiter took our lunch order but they lost the order after realising that there were no food on our table. But it was quickly rectified. The tea cake was delicious and it’s the best I’ve had. It was filled with sultanas and cinnamon. We also had the tomato and red pepper soup with a toasted panini. The soup was hot and delicious!
