If I could rate some of the above nil stars, I absolutely would of. My reviews are always based on personal experience at the time and do not reflect every meal, staff member or even daily experience however this was not a good day.
My family decided to pop in here for a late lunch, early dinner on Monday after a day of bowling and to be honest I wished I just ordered food from the bowling.
Let's start with atmosphere. The entire place is filthy. There is dust everywhere and the seats haven't seen hot soapy water in a long time. The walls are all cracked and the paint work desperately needs to be redone. We sat in a corner next to a small white wall which had at least 1cm of dust on it and water marks on the wall behind my daughter. The toilets are not being monitored regularly. The taps are broken and there is marks all over the walls. The stall doors are broken and toilets aren't cleaned regularly. All in all the hygiene is very poorly kept up with.
The food was cold when it arrived at the table which is unusual as the food actually came out very quickly but any time we tried to discreetly get a waitresses attention we were ignored. The apart blue steak was medium rare at best and the cheese sauce that came with it wasn't a sauce but a big cheese clump that peeled off the steak in one. The veg around it appeared to be frozen peppers which were bland with very little seasoning. The cutlery had marks over it served in a dirty metal bucket.
The waitress that did come over wasn't interested in anything we tried to ask her but instead started clearing away plates whist a party member was still eating which resulted in a loss of appetite. We had to chase up our daughters sweet and felt as though we were being rushed out.
Can't say we'll be back until the place is cleaned and staff are retrained especially in social etiquette. My daughter did not need to hear a staff member talking about recreational activities when...

Never been before and wish I had seen the reviews before booking, we were greeted and shown to our seats and thats where the customer service stopped. Were shown our seat with a "there you go" and then left to work out what to do, is it table service, is it order at the bar, is there an app, any specials ? Not sure after sitting for half an hour went to the bar and ordered, after seeing other people at the bar, after another half hour we got our lukewarm meal. I had Sunday Roast, should of been called Sunday Damp, everything was just soggy, roast potatoes were soft and like warm, the time it took to get the meal I thought the veg would of been soggy and over cooked, however undercooked and room temperature, the gravy was ok and the only redeeming feature was the beef was tender, cool but tender. Presentation and quality has a lot to be desired, veg looked old and past best when it came to carrots and green beans. The Tikka Masala looked like reheated jar sauce, few pieces of chicken, again lukewarm. Steak pie was ok, and chips were cooked frozen chips with ballbearing peas.
Drinks order which was only 3 glasses came and th ice was half melted, time taken or recycled ice I don't know.
Staff looked like they had been beaten down so much by the reviews and feedback they were ready to give up.
Can't really rate service as showing me to my table and taking a card payment is not really a service I should be greatful for.
Really disappointed, next time I'll probably pop to McDonald's next door, quicker service, hot food and cheaper....which is saying alot as I don't like...
Read moreSets the bar! And then some. I came here recently before I went to the cinema for a bite to eat and I was not disappointed. Coming in to the Barr-Bridge I was made to feel very welcome by the staff who were so friendly and accommodating. There was a terrific atmosphere in the restaurant itself and I was served immediately. To start with I had the crispy chicken strips which were cooked to perfection, the meat was tender and was absolutely magnificent. Following this, I had the “smokin’ Jack” burger which was absolutely phenomenal with an astonishing accompaniment of “cheesy chips” I was pleasantly surprised with how efficient and delicious the food was. The highest of compliments must be given to the bar, kitchen and waiting staff of the restaurant. But the real star of the show, was a charismatic, passionate and dedicated manager by the name of David. As the restaurant grew busier, it is understandable and not uncommon for staff (especially management) to crack under pressure. However, with David that was not the case. He worked efficiently, effectively and with excellence in the fast paced environment. For the time he had to chat to me we discussed our tattoos and music taste which turned out to be very similar which was great. Cannot sing this man’s praises anymore. His dedication to the hospitality sector is inspiring and sets the bar for those who aspire to be in this industry. To put it bluntly, the Barr-Bridge...
