We stopped local with our aim of trying new places on our doorstep this year. We came on a Sunday night and there wasn’t much of a queue. We were told it would be about a 45 minute wait for food as they had a few big parties in. We were happy with this and we were shown to a seat. We were given a booth and the server was prompt with coming over to take our drinks order. Next came our food order which definitely didn’t take 45 minutes to come, we both got the beet burger which says on the menu that it has roasted beetroot, pastrami and melted cheese. The burger itself was fantastically cooked and tasted brilliant however it did have bacon on it and no pastrami. The fries and sweet potato fries were lovely as well.
The toilets were extremely clean, some of the best toilets I’ve ever visited in a restuarant.
Overall a fantastic experience which has only been marked down a star due to the missing pastrami and the music being too loud that I couldn’t really have a conversation with my wife (we might have been situated near the...
Read moreSo, went to beetroot tonight for some food with my mate as we usually do and have been for years. I asked the barman what roast it was when he was through in the chase next door and he said roast beef. When we went through we ordered haggis fritters and two regular Sunday roast dinners with some drinks. The starter was fantastic as usual but when the main came it was steak pie!? I told him that's not what we ordered and to take it back. The kitchen staff told him that's what they class as a Sunday roast! If it wasn't so late and I wasn't so hungry I would have left! To top it off they charged us for the Sunday roast at 12.99 each! To say I'm dissapointed is an understatement. I doubt I will be back which is a shame as we've been going for years and never had a problem before. If a member of management want to get in touch I have photos of the...
Read moreWas here for a breakfast meal as we've always said we would. There waa possibly 1 other group in when we went in. We got sat in a booth and both went for the full Scottish breakfast and a pot of tea each. As you can see, its a decent portion plate for the breakfast. Been to places or previously had takeaway breakfasts delivered which have been bigger, but sometimes they're a bit too much. Little bit pricier but for a treat probably say it was worth it. The toast was amazing so was the black pudding. The waitress was nice and friendly and didn't bother us when we were eating. My only complaint with Beetroot is the seat backs in the booth are quite upright and the booths are quite narrow so if you are above average height there's a wee bit of manoeuvring to get legs in comfortably under the table. Still.... In saying...
