Birdhouse Cafe — Restaurant in Scotland

Just had a lovely takeaway lunch from the Birdhouse Café. Two lovely, freshly made, toasted sandwiches. Both my wife's ham and cheese and my Italian meat feast were very substantial and delicious! An equally lovely carrot cake(for me) and apple cake (for my wife) to finish and we were well and truly satiated. I strongly recommend popping in if you are hungry.

The food was fine, I had a burger and my partner had a chicken and feta sandwich. The staff were fine, and the owner/manager was horrible. He was more interested in speaking with his friends than actually serving his customers. When he dropped our food off, he walked away while I was mid question, I was looking straight at him, and he simply ignored me. For a high price of £30 for lunch, I expect at least some common courtesy. If it wasn't for the other staff, this would be a 1 star review. I won't...

Desperate for a coffee as we drove through Banorchy from the Cairngorms headed to Edinburgh we spied this cafe and decided to grab a takeaway coffee.

Without doubt the best coffee I have had since leaving Australia 6 weeks ago. The owner knew his stuff, roasts their own coffee and knocked out a smashing cup. So good I had to go back for a second before hitting the road.

Conversation was great, a wonderful 15 minute break on a long drive.
