Boogie Woogie — Restaurant in Scotland

1st indication that this was the place to come to was the number of tables that were pre- booked with the time booked for on the sign. Great freshly cooked food. Very large bowl of soup with thick chunks of bread, pasta dish of the day would easily satisfy a large appetite & the pear & caramel crumble was delicious - very generous with the pear. I had it with a very good quality ice cream. Daily specials were great tasting. The service was very friendly & good too. A good mix of locals & visitors. You could see that there were plenty of regulars in as the owners knew them - always a good sign.

I'd be happy if my elderly relatives lived locally & ate there every day as I know they would be really well fed!

The toilets are on the ground floor. The womens toilet was large enough to enable people with limited mobility to take their frames in but not a wheelchair. Entrance is OK for those with walking frames, but it would be awkward if a potential customer was a wheelchair user. The cafe is in an old building & not large so what they've done with the limited space was probably the best that could be achieved in that setting.

I noticed this cafe as we were passing through from Banff on our way to Aviemore. I wanted to stop and take my wife and son for some breakfast. They do a large breakfast (full Scottish plus) which included 3x link sausage 2xfriedeggs 1 x blackpudding 1x white oat pudding slice 2xrashers of bacon, portion of beans and a slice of toast all cooked and served within 5 minutes of ordering. If you are not as hungry you can ask for the £10 breakfast which gives you a choice of six items. The cafe does light bites paninis, sandwiches or soup and the like and also has an array of baked cakes to choose from to have with your coffee or tea. Plenty parking spots outside of the cafe area. Thought it would be a good late lunch, got there and was very surprised after seeing some of the other reviews. I was shocked at how small the actual menu was and when the food came It wasn't up to much at all. I could say that the portions aren't too bad. But for what I paid its very shocking. That much for soup and sandwiches that come with packed butter, that are made with frozen defrosted chicken and very little taste, My partner had tuna mayo but I'm not sure where the mayo actually was?
