Café Fresco — Restaurant in Scotland

Lukewarm. First day of my search for the best Sunday roast on the east coast of Fife Scotland. I struggled the last few weeks to find anywhere and by the time I did it was three pm, not this week, I picked the location before I left them house. I had soup here last week and I was in just after noon to try the roast. Service here is good, friendly, but the server missed the chance to fill the Yorkie with gravy. Roast on offer was beef, I got a decent portion, the plate didn't give much space for potatoes and veg and add the gravy had already been applied there was no option to cover them either. I was offered tea but opted for sparkling water, I think I'll make that part of the routine. Also I'm going to the ecology center after for tea and cake as my dessert. The lady in front of me commented on my meal, she wished she was having it. I said it was hard to find a roast on a Sunday in the area. Yeah, here and in hotels, was the reply, I'll use that info and select somewhere today for next week. Food was lukewarm. Hench only two stars. Could be much better without much effort. We only bought a slice of cake and 2 lattes on this occasion. There is, however, a lot more. This is a well stocked cafe. The cake was a good size and the lattes were very hot. We visited before 12 noon and managed to get a seat. It did, however, get very busy, so it might prove difficult to get a seat if in a big group. The cafe is on the upper floor, accessed by stairs or a lift. There are customer toilets opposite, which were very clean. I last had breakfast at Cafe Fresco in November last year and it was most enjoyable. My wife, daughter and I this morning at 1030 had breakfast and it was very disappointing. The toast was toasted on one side, the breakfast items, apart from the fried egg, were cold. The fried egg was under cooked. All in all a very poor show by the staff.
