Callum's Bar & Kitchen — Restaurant in Scotland

Good Afternoon,

After hearing good things about the food at Callum's bar we decided to have a light lunch. When we arrived the greeting was not very friendly or welcoming. There were only 2 other tables occupied. We ordered 2 soft drinks to drink (soda & blackcurrant). For food we chose the soup and a toastie deal and toastie and cajun chips deal. The food was presented nice, the toasties and soup were tasty enough although the cheese on the toasty was not melted just slightly warm but we were hungry. I was disappointed my order came with plain chips instead the cajun chips I ordered. The lady serving did not come over to check if everything was ok with our order so the chips sat cold until I asked another member of staff who served someones desserts, for his help with the matter. Instead of dealing with it there and then he left the chips and mentioned something about getting the other lady back to deal with it. Eventually she returned with a small dish of cajun seasoning and a dessert spoon for me to sprinkle over my cold chips, apologised and walked away before I could say anything. My partner and I could not believe the lack of customer service. We sat there in utter disbelief. My partner eventually had to go up to say something. We were finally offered some fresh chips but we were ready for leaving by this point and just asked that the £2.50 additional charge for the chips be taken off the bill. To make the experience even worse we were shocked that for a soup & sandwich/toastie, a cheese & ham toastie and 2 soda and blackcurrants we were charged £18.90!!! and only £1.50 got deducted for the chips. BEWARE We were in on Friday 13th after a celebration meal at trattoria roma. The elder of the two barmaids who served overcharged our order. Possibly because could see drinks had already been consumed elsewhere. When queried to the price charged £36 as a local who was sat at the bar mentioned to us that the order should've been £25. £11 overcharge!!! The said barmaid came to the end of the bar said nothing and slapped the overcharge on the bar. Now questioning if this is what happens on a regular basis. Certainly will make all of our party wary which at times consisted of 12 people with their own orders. The...

Recommended by big guy in Colliers, as they couldn’t serve us due to a large party today. We put our order in at Callum’s bar, and 3/4 of an hour later still waiting. During this time three tables had been served, all entering the restaurant after us. One table complained, and left their food, no payment paid. Think this tells you a lot about the service.
