Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Scotland

I live in the very close vicinity to Costa Larkhall. Just paid one of my (almost) daily visits. The girls here are so friendly, make an excellent cup of coffee and the place is always spotless.

I had popped in for a cold drink after meeting my partner for a coffee in a different coffee shop chain in a different town. There was no comparison. In the other place I had to clear the table myself before sitting down and this isn’t unusual for this other chain.

That never happens in Costa Larkhall. The tables are always cleared and cleaned. You always see staff clearing, cleaning and mopping. Kay, the manager, is very much hands on and serves customers and keeps the place spotless along with her staff.

For me it’s not just buying a lunch or a coffee it’s actually part of my social routine. I always get a good bit of friendly banter with the staff and it’s lovely to see them interacting with the other customers too. They clearly take pride in their work and also enjoy dealing with people. Kay, Claire and Zoe in particular always brighten my day up with a wee chat, a smile and a lovely...

Ordered small caramel latte with extra portion of caramel and extra shot of coffee. 2 pumps of caramel is a portion info given by the server. I asked how many pumps were in my glass, the barista reply 3. So I asked could I please have a full extra portion of caramel for which I was charged for and paid. His reply " but you have 3 pumps that's extra enough" my reply, please give me what you charged me for and what I have paid for. This is not the 1st or 2nd time of this problem in this Costa. The barista serving needs too learn some manors a customer service skills. In my day working in the hospitality industry, someone with his attitude would have been dragged over the counter. Visited Costa coffee Larkhall this morning. Place was very quiet, staff on duty need to learn manners about customer care. We were abruptly told where we could and couldn't sit. Strange thing is we've been visiting our local Costa coffee shop since it opened usual every weekend while out walking plus the wife uses it during the week, hence we usually use the same area to sit in. Today witnessed a member of staff being rude to customers in the queue about the 2mt distancing rules which weren't being compromised. Then same member of staff abruptly informed us need to sit else where, as I mentioned there was only about 6 customers in so not sure what the problem was all about.
