Mamma Mia Italian Restaurant Larkhall — Restaurant in Scotland

I ordered from here for the first time just the other day and I had the macaroni cheese, which was superb. She had the Bolognese, which she said was amazing and then the napoli penne pasta. The next time we ordered I had a margarita pizza and she had chicken Alfredo, which I tried a bit of and it was rich, creamy and amazing. I'm not usually a fan of too much garlic, but it was excellent. The pasta is prepared fresh and you can really tell that from every mouthful.

We sat in today (8/6/25) for the first time and the 3 of us had pizzas - absolutely brilliant. Lovely soft dough base, tasty cheese and cooked to perfection. The restaurant (and toilet) were clean, the service was excellent and the dessert (chocolate fudge cake with ice cream) was also excellent. My only criticism would be the music was a bit off-putting, as it was dance music. I feel it could have benefited from some traditional Italian music, for atmosphere.

I just wish I'd known about the restaurant sooner, as I'll be leaving the area shortly, but I'll be sure to stop by on occasion, as food this good is worth the trek. The takeaway portion sizes are generous and could easily accommodate two people or could be saved and reheated the following day. In this age of austerity, I think that's a really important point. They also have in-shop deals on with cash transactions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which is also really noteworthy - please see the images attached to this review.

Been here many times and cannot find 1 fault. Usually we come here on the motorbike but tonight decided to take the car.

The food is always lovely and served quickly. The service is always amazing. The place is spotless.

Tonight’s experience was no different than any other time, my girlfriend and I drive here from 40 minutes away because it’s that good.

I had the lasagne and she had the bolognaise. I had to take my lasagne home with me in a tub as I couldn’t let any of it go to waste!

I am unsure if the young lad that was serving us tonight was new or if we just haven’t been luckily enough to be there whilst he was working. He was extremely polite and made sure that our table had everything needed whilst serving many other tables on this busy night. He seemed completely run off his feet and still managed to provide amazing service to everyone. Take a bow young man, you’re great at what you do.

Lastly I want to complement the chef, your food is top class! Taste and texture is always amazing and I can never fault the portion sizes either, I always leave here feeling full and completely satisfied.

Mamma Mia was in the main a fishNchip shop with most excellent freshly cooked meals, I knew they had the Wee Italian sit down through the salon doors, but didn't really know how good it would be for a.family sit down. The wall between the FnC and the Wee Italian has been removed and its.k8nda worth taking a table and watching your grub being made. It looks so much better now and I guess a few others, like me didn't really notice the Wee Italian restaurant.
