Went today to huplee with my friend. After one plate of food I bit into a piece of chicken Maryland (no spices are added to this which could have dyed the chicken) to find the inside of it was PINK. After saying to a lovely waitress with blonde hair (found out at the till her name was Victoria) she advised she was sorry and that I wouldn't be charged for my meal. She then took the chicken into the kitchen. A bit put off by the incident we grabbed some desert then went to pay. I advised the man on the till that I was served PINK CHICKEN and the waitress told me I wouldn't be expected to pay for my meal. (I didn't mind paying for a plate of desert but didn't expect to pay £15 for 1 plate of raw chicken. The gentleman behind the till then basically called me a liar and that I would never have been served raw chicken even though I sent it back to the kitchen. He then began quizzing me and saying the waitress wouldn't have said that as she is only "part time". I asked him to speak to Victoria but conviniently she had "just left" and that I was to pay in full. Honestly I wouldn't have minded paying the full price but the attitude from the guy behind the counter basically calling me a liar was disgusting. I take my family to huplee all the time as we usually have a lovely time but after today I definitely WONT BE BACK. Absolutely shocking...
Read moreVisited this place with family which included a disabled person, terrible staff and terrible service! The staff there has no general knowledge of how to deal with a person with disabilities, we had wanted a table with chairs just so our person with special needs was comfortable but staff decided to seat us at a booth! We were 5 people 1 of whom was disabled and the staff there couldn't care less, having to walk in and out of a booth with someone who isn't able was extremely difficult almost impossible at times! We even requested a table but the staff said none are available all are booked but throughout the entire evening we sat, so many tables remained unoccupied! Stay away from this place because a restaurant which does not care for the most vulnerable of our society is not worth your money. I was visiting from Canada and I came back shocked at this restaurants incompetant behavior towards my disabled sister! Won't ever go back...especially because after numerous requests from us for a table the staff at this restaurant were arrogant and ignorant towards my sister's needs and vulnerabilities. They made her and us feel less worthy and treated us like 2nd class citizens, I might even do some research and complain about this restaurant to some appropriate authorities due to their lack of service and accessibility towards my...
Read moreVisited this restaurant with my 9year old and 5year old. Was presented a bill which read 2adult one child I mentioned to the waiter that my daughter was a child he said he didn’t put it down, he would go check. By this time my kids had their jackets on so I made my way to the bar area where you can also pay. Was confronted with 2 men pointing at my daughter looking her up and down laughing making my child feel uncomfortable. He explained it goes by height which I agreed is fine but don’t make a child feel this way. They continued to laugh and speak in another language continued pointing at my child then the man to the the side of me flung a menu at me. I asked them to call police as I felt intimidated in the premises been surrounded with males and them laughing and pointing now throwing menus. And I walked to the door I told them I would wait for the police and enter premises they then restricted my 9year old daughter from leaving the restaurant. My kids were traumatised uncontrollably upset. The staff were aggressive and intimidating made a child feel very uncomfortable. Customer service is atrocious. Place has signs up saying wasted food plates will have extra charge there’s a bouncer like man watching over the plates getting removed from your...
