Alas a very poor visit. Indeed as was my previous such attempt too...

On the first visit I traveled from Newcastle to the club shop (whilst in the rough area anyway that is, albeit this was a key detour) to purchase a large adult shirt, only to find it was closed as it was Saturday and they were playing away. Hmmmmmmmmm.... And unfortunately this is the only place in the world where you can buy an Inverness Caledonian Thistle shirt apparently. (?)

On my second attempt the club shop was open, however despite it being just July and the new season not even yet to kick off, the largest size they had in stock was XL for the away shirt I was after, and 2XL for the home shirt. (these are "athlete/muscle" fit remember, so even a 3XL will still not fit the average tall adult male).

I asked about buying online instead but was amazed to be told "if you wait until around Christmas you'll be able to order a larger away shirt".

Incredibly this means it appears according to the staff, that there is nowhere in the world at all you can purchase a 4XL Inverness Caledonian Thistle away shirt, even with the new season just about to start!!!

This is absolutely ridiculous and not simply explained by the fact that they are a lowly Championship side, as I then left Inverness Caledonian Thistle and drove to Dingwall and walked into the Ross County Club shop where they had every shirt - home, away, and goalkeeper too, in all sizes up to 5XL. I therefore proceeded to buy a larger Ross County shirt instead, as I am supportive of both teams, but it clearly seems an absolute nightmare task to live in Newcastle and be able to buy a correctly fitting Inverness Away shirt.

What kind of retailing provision leads to a situation where a simple 3 or 4 XL away shirt, cannot be bought ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD apparently, in late July, not long after they have came out, and with the new season about to get started?

Major fail in all...

I have liked Inverness for decades but haven't spent much time there as I live over 400 miles from the place. I had hoped to watch a match there in July but the heat wave struck and I had to reschedule my trip. Three years ago, when I collected my semi-final ticket from the stadium 🏟 I was allowed to take a 360 degree video from inside the ground which took in a part of The Moray Firth and the Beauly Firth. To get to where I took the video I had to go through the Players' Entrance and down the tunnel. I got some good photos and videos once again today. Prior to that Hampden match three years ago, I hadn't been to a football game in maybe thirty years. I am a follower of rugby union. Shame about today's result.. a draw did seem quite likely. I had a good time there chatting with a local on the back of the upper level of seating. I liked the fact that many seats near where I sat had people's names on them. I...

Inverness moved into the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium in 1996 after the merger off two Clubs Caledonia FC and Inverness Thistle in August 1994 before the start of the 1996/97 season the club changed to its current name as part of the application to join the Scottish League.Inverness had to play two seasons at Pittodrie as the ground didn't hold the then SPL 10,000 capacity requirment at the time the SPL then reduced it to 6,000 whilst playing at Pittodrie the ground developed so that it met SPL standards .The ground id dominated by the Main Stand which runs along one side of the pitch this is quite smart all seated stand is partly covered to the rear whilst opposite is a small open terrace that...

What a quaint little stadium, and what a non-regular attraction for a Friday night on a cold January evening. It was freezing. It was pouring The proximity to the sea did not help either. Frankly, there were almost no fans at all, so tge club did not bother to have beer kegs for the match. But... It was fun. In its own way. Bare in mind, it is walkable from city centre, but not recommended when its raining. On the way back from the match there was a free shuttle to the coach station.
