Kismat? More like Kismetastrophe.
Where do I even begin with this disaster? Went to Kismat in Bridge of Allan expecting a nice Indian takeaway, left with a case study in how not to run a restaurant.
We placed one group order — ONE ORDER — but because we paid separately (like literally every normal group does these days), they decided to only cook half the food. HALF. As in, 50%. As in, "we'll feed your mate but you? You can starve for 15 minutes while we figure out how kitchens work."
So there we are, one half of us awkwardly clutching bags of food going stone cold by the minute, while the other half are standing around like spare poppadoms at a curry buffet, waiting for someone in the back to realise they forgot the rest of the order. No apology. No urgency. Just, “Oh yeah, we’ll get that sorted, just wait.”
Honestly, it was like watching a slow-motion food heist… except the only thing stolen was our patience, time, and appetite.

Read moreWe travelled through Scotland and whenever we weren‘t camping in the Highlands we ate Indian food. Kismat, by far served the best food from all locations. The sauce tray for the onion bahji was delicious and fresh. Main courses were really flavorful and spicy. The Naan bread with garlic was crusty and delicious. The service was helpful and welcoming. The atmosphere was very laid back and quiet, just right to have a chat without getting disturbed by loud music. After dinner we told the waitress how good the food was, so the Chef came out to say hi. We got the impression that the Chef and all other employees really like what they do and you feel and taste the love they put into the food and service! Thank you very much for this experience. An absolute must if you are...

A warm welcome, a comfortable and spotlessly clean restaurant. White linen table cloths and napkins. Poppadoms and two large portions of spiced onions way too much. Lovely fresh pakora and authentic chef special curries. Punjabi style and butter chicken. We have tried most Indian restaurants in the area and can honestly say this one is top notch. Can't wait to return and try other chefs...
