Luci's Arrabiata
Our family favourite: spicy calabrese sausage in a tomato sauce. Not for the faint hearted.
Rustica
Pan fried pork cheek, cherry tomatoes, rocket and aged ricotta. A full and hearty dish, a favourite of all. Served with rigatoni pasta.
Paccheri
Crumbled italian sausage, garlic, wild mushrooms and a hint of chilli. Served with penne.
Spaghetti Pomodoro
A traditional tomato sauce made with fresh tomatoes torn basil and olive oil. Simple but oh so tasty.
Spaghetti Romano
Olive oil, sliced garlic and red chilli. This is an intensly flavoured dish with a strong aroma

Along the busy winding High Street in Lasswade, Luci’s Italian Restaurant & Cocktail Bar seamlessly blends gastronomic delights with scenic charm. As you step inside, you’ll be greeted by an inviting atmosphere that seamlessly blends rustic charm with modern elegance. The cosy interior, adorned with tasteful decor, sets the stage for a memorable meal. Luci’s pride themselves on quality ingredients. Sourcing the freshest ingredients, ensuring an authentic taste in every bite is extremely important to them. Luci’s menu is a celebration of Italian cuisine, featuring classic dishes prepared with love and attention to detail. The crispy fried calamari was perfectly cooked in a light batter and fried to perfection. The texture was tender yet slightly chewy, with a satisfying crunch. The sea-saltiness of the calamari paired beautifully with the tangy Amalfi lemon and chive aioli. When you dipped the calamari into this aioli, there was a harmonious blend of citrus, creaminess, and savoury goodness. This dish offered a delightful balance of textures and flavours—crispy, zesty, and herb-infused. It’s a taste of the Mediterranean with a Scottish twist! The delicate, paper-thin slices of Prosciutto di Parma were velvety, salty, and slightly nutty, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture. The richness of the prosciutto pairs beautifully with the other components of the aged balsamic and the gnocci fritti (puffed up fried gnocci). The Stracchino Cheese was creamy, mild, and slightly tangy but so complementary to the prosciutto. This dish offers a harmonious blend of textures and flavours—savoury, sweet, and herbaceous. It’s a celebration of Italian simplicity and quality ingredients! Burrata salad (£7) - Salad of fresh baby tomatoes, burrata cheese, rocket & aged balsamic. A delightfully Summery salad. The half burrata was soft, creamy and starting to ooze out over the rocket. The baby tomatoes were bursting with sweetness and the peppery and slightly bitter rocket balanced the creaminess of the burrrata. Chicken Parmigiana (£18) - Tenderised chicken breast coated in Grana Padano and breadcrumbs then fried in butter and lemon, warm burrata cheese fresh Pachino tomato sauce & fresh basil. The chicken breast was juicy and succulent, and the coating of Grana Padano and breadcrumbs added a crispy, savoury layer. You could taste the richness of the butter and the zestiness of the lemon whilst another burrata ball oozed out its mild, milky, luxurious centre over the chicken and pasta. This Chicken Parmigiana was a harmonious blend of textures and flavours—crunchy, cheesy, and comforting. Beef short rib Pasta (£18) - Handmade egg paradelle, Slow braised short rib, San Marzano tomato & red wine ragu. The wide, ribbon-like pasta was tender, slightly chewy, and absorbed the rich sauce beautifully. The slow-braised short rib was fall-apart tender, having simmered for hours, and you could taste the savoury essence of red wine and sweet, tangy San Marzano tomatoes. The ragu enveloped the pasta, creating a luscious coating. This dish is comforting, hearty, and utterly satisfying! My dining experience at Luci’s was thoroughly enjoyable. Despite the busy service, the well-arranged tables allowed for comfortable conversation. The staff, warm and friendly, added to the overall positive atmosphere. Whether you’re seeking a romantic dinner, a lively evening with friends, or simply a place to unwind, Luci’s awaits with open arms and a menu that celebrates the best of Italian and Scottish hospitality.

I've been recommended this restaurant by so many people, I decided to finally take a friend for her birthday. It was definitely worth the hype, the place is lovely, easy to get to (the bus stops right outside which was a fab bonus) and the food was incredible! We got a couple of cocktails which I did think were sightly expensive considering 1 was about 80% ice, but nothing super outrageous, and they tasted great so I didn't mind too much as it was a treat! Only a couple of tiny things made me score it less than 5 stars- it was a Saturday night so pretty busy which means it was quite loud and a little difficult to get service or attention at certain times (which is absolutely understandable), and again the price was a little more than I would have thought for what we ordered. But overall- a very nice place and if you want somewhere fancier while avoiding town its perfect! I will definitely be recommending it to other people myself!

We went here for lunch with friends the other day. It was our first time since the new ownership/refurb and we were very impressed with the design and and how immaculate it looked. The gent that served us was very friendly and helpful. The Sunday menu was new and caters for most diets. Most items were reasonably priced. Portion sizes were good and were well presented. I had the gnocchi which was very tasty. Quite possible the best gnocchi I’ve ever had. I got the haggis bon bons for a side and also the steamed broccoli with almonds. Both of which were excellent. For dessert I got the tart which was also nice. Others in the party also enjoyed their meals and couldn’t really fault it. We’ll for sure be back. Is it better than Gigi’s? Hmm…good question.

What happened to this restaurant? I'm really disappointed at how much this place has gone downhill. On our previous visits the food has been absolutely spot on. My wife and I were over the moon that we had finally found a proper good Italian. On our recent visit we were told that they had brought in a new team of Italian chefs who cook in the traditional Italian style and the food would be much better. That was the first red flag. I ordered the crostini di funghi, a dish I have ordered twice before and loved. Unfortunately the cold tasteless mushrooms on burnt tough bread didn't live up to my past experience. The same can be said for the bruchetta my mum ordered. My father ordered a dish with mozzarella and smoked roast garlic. He received a mozzarella ball, a few cherry tomatoes and a raw piece of garlic. My wife had the muscles which arrived in a water with a twist of lemon and lots of black pepper i.e. tasteless. My main meal wasn't too bad other than the pasta being overcooked and my dad's pizza was ok. My mother ordered the lemon sole which arrived with very small cubes of inedible brunt potatoes on the side. The portion size was far too small for the price. The worst dish was my wife's carbonara. I'm not exaggerating when I say that this arrived as scrambled eggs and spaghetti, she had to send it back and ordered a different dish. What was more frustrating was the fact that the waitress appears to be phasing the blame to my wife because had asked for the version without cream, this is an option on the menu and something my wife has had ordered at this restaurant before. My wife then had to explain to the waitress why the sauce had scrambled and the fact that it was missing the cheese which is a key ingredient. Any good chef would have been able to tell by sight that this dish should never have gone to thebpass. Customer 101 - accept mistakes and never blame your customers. We noticed a table next to us walked out without paying and two other tables that had to send their meals back. My advice to this restaurant would be to sack your current team of "chefs" and bring back the old team. If the previous team of chefs is reinstated or a team of similar calibre I will change my review and...

Honestly, do not go to this place for group bookings. The woman who I was dealing with has 0 customer level skills and was completely rude in all the occasions I had to deal with her. First off, I was offered the mezzi area but was told on a separate call that we had to be put downstairs as we weren’t ordering enough food. Which I was fine with, since at the start I made it clear I was looking for a place with drinks and a small buffet lunch. Just to let you know on the call I was constantly told that they were losing out on tables thus money which I found also highly rude. Second call, I was told that this was now not an option, and I to either downgrade the table size or have a minimum spend at the bar because and I quote “your guests will drink water”. Never been so insulted with such a rude remark, especially in this type of industry. Seriously need to have a rethink on how you treat your clientele. Please heed my warning and avoid at all cost! And to the lady I had to deal with, please work on your hospitality skills because you’re not fit for this type of work with the remarks you have said. Truly awful experience. *Also edit in regards to the comment back, never once mentioned about sandwiches because I was was spending money on the “buffet” option...
