When I first moved to Irvine Mammas was by far the best place to go for fish and chips. Over the last few times we have had food from there we have found the food is overly greasy (obvious not allowed to drain before bagging up). The chips are always clumped together and more and more of them are small or to hard and inedible - potatoes are often full of eyes. Portion sizes are generous - overly so sometimes resulting in a lot of waste. Think its time to start eating healthier and bypassing this outlet altogether.

October 2023 - Returned here after a long break - no improvement - possibly even worse - had a chicken supper - really pink near the bone and very very greasy. The Chips again were clumpy and greasy. Just wish there was a better alternate chippy near to the town centre. By the time we get to Ayr Road and back the food would be cold. Mammas is not going to improve whilst they have no competition in the near vicinity and maintain their monopoly.
