My wifes review: My husband and I travelled from a round 45 minutes to this restaurant after reading so many 5 star reviews on here. Being 38 weeks pregnant and finding most menus don’t cater for pregnant ladies I was happy when I saw the menu online and so we booked for our wedding anniversary meal.

On arrival we were slightly disheartened by the appearance of the building itself, lacked ‘pavement appeal’ with stubbed our cigarettes and litter at the entrance as well as an abundance of flies as you walked in the front door- however, we continued into the building hopeful we would be surprised. The smell of stale smoke and beer was not great as the pub joining the restaurant which was crowded with loud drunk men caught our attention.

As we made our way into the restaurant area on the left hand side which was dull and uninviting we were directed to the furthest away table - directly below a speaker which was playing very loud dance music. The seats and tables were dirty with crumbs and sticky marks. The menu was presented to us and appeared shabby and much less inviting than what we had seen online - the same content only on a sheet of A4 paper. We were directed to some specials which were scribbled on a whiteboard with a marker pen on the other side of the restaurant.

As this was a special occasion we decided against eating in this establishment- we paid for our drinks and left. I would like to think we would have been pleasantly surprised by the food if we had decided to stay- however I dread to think about the presentation of the kitchen when I consider the restaurant itself.

Very disappointing considering the ‘glowing’ reviews which worryingly do not match our experience in...

After seeing pictures on Baillieston Facebook page I decided to try it as the pictures of food looked Amazing. We didn't book and walked in on a Saturday late Afternoon and the place was Full, Great to see this and I knew from then on my experience here was going to be a Great one. We managed to get a nice table for 2 as we agreed to give the table back in 1 hour, so pleased we got a table. Lots of Staff attentively about. We ordered drinks and asked what the specials were I was directed to the board and What a Choice. I quickly choose the Venison, served with a Creamy mash with selections of winter vegetables, my son ordered Mussels for a starter and then the Steak with fries and side salad, his eyes bigger than his belly, he then ordered a side of Onion rings he's was in his Element and So was I. I am passionate and Love Food but it has to have Presentation, be Hot, and has too taste Delicious and I can say this dish of Venison was moist and melted in your mouth the richness from the juices brought my Taste buds Alive and wanting more. I would definitely Recommend dining here First Impressions count Well Done to the Chef's on Presentation and Taste. The Staff were friendly and Welcoming they couldn't be more helpful. This place had a lovely feel about it as I closed my eyes and listened only for a second or two to the chattering and laughter was Lovely to hear. Thankyou Once again for a Lovely Dining Experience....

I was in with my husband.Got a minestrone soup each and I got a liver meal and he got a penne Arabista for lunch. All was done to a high standard.Got an apple pie and custard. Ok I dropped a point for the portion control of the ministrone. It was very small and I kid you not I got virtually a teaspoon of custard with apple pie.Severe portion control with high class food.really odd.If I went to someone’s house and was offered a tiny ministrone a a teaspoon of custard in a very small square dish.I would think the host was very mingy.I would go back though. But so wrong in some levels.I mentioned this to a young waitress but I picked up imo that she couldn’t care less. The older waitress was nice and I mentioned give chef my compliments, she was more with it saying she would tell chef and got the feeling she was happy we enjoyed...

Thus is a gem of a place it is not a large place, but a good size and spotlessly clean. intimate yet plenty of space . .service second to none, food was very good, and drink was spot on. Prices very reasonable thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon. Mussels white wine starter loads of mussels sauce was spot on. Surf and turf for main 🫡😁was cooked as requested well done.....as I like it.....and cheesecake to finish boom.....Will defo be back. Thank you x and we had many beers in the pub the staff were also spot on......toilets in here were spotless.....I know this is not a normal thing to comment on but spotless and hot water,hand-wash and driers were spot on.

Good friendly little local restaurant in Ballieston, not far from the Main Street and just behind the Morissons supermarket, so pretty easy to find and with ample parking in the street and to the car park beside. When we went in the restaurant was really busy on a Saturday night, and as this was the first time here, had booked a table. Seemed to quiten down as the evening went on, but would recommend calling for a reservation. Portion sizes were really good and definitely belly filling. I was driving tonight, so I never got the chance to try any drinks from the bar. Would definitely go back.

Food was lovely, oh amd the hand cut chips were amazing 👏 service was great too. Be sure to book or call ahead as it tends to be busy, it's not massive either so can be hard to get a table. Highly recommended 👌
