Would not even give this place a one star.
When we walked into the cafe, the waitress saw us but continued to walk past us to fill sandwich fridge. Another staff member stood right in front off us, filling up cup station, did not even take us on or acknowledge. The fridge, the waitress was filling wasn't far away from u, maybe a metre away. She was too concerned about filling the fridge, she didn't even turn round once to check on her restaurant or if any other customers had entered. We were at the point of going out of our way to grab her attention. When she finally approached us, there was not even an apology for the wait and manners weren't great. We were not asked about any food allergies or preference of bread for our toasties. When food finally arrived (a cheese toastie and chips), the waitress then informed us the chips would be a couple of minutes. That was fair enough. However, the chips were more than a few minutes more like 10 minutes, the main meal was finished by the time they arrived at the table. Also te salad that was on the plate was not fresh looking and brown in parts of the lettuce and dry when eating. It had clearly been left out and had oxidised, turning it dry and brown.
After the meal, we placed our empty plates on, to put it nicely a dumping ground of plates. Both tray trolleys were full to the brim of dirty dishes and half eaten eat that had clearly been there for a while.
The smell that was coming from the dirty plates on trolleys was revolting had travelled all through the cafe, we could smell it from our table. No staff Member made any attempt to empty the trolleys. It wasnt busy at all in the cafe, there only 3 other tables who had already been seen too. The staff had plenty of time to chat to one another instead of keeping an eye out for customers or clean. The only member of staff that seemed to be doing anything was the KP.
On seeing other reviews for this cafe, there seems to be a common thread of its management issues. However, me and my friend have both worked as managers and waitresses in the hospitality industry, we know what things should be prioritised. Trays left on tables cause the tray stand was full of dirty trays. When the food arrived, you could tell that the chips had been left in the tray or heat lamp for over the 10 minute leave out period they were cold and stale and rubbery not fresh at all.
