This cafe has transformed the small town of Innerleithen.. Before this cafe opened its doors there were only the dreary hotels (the Traquair Arms being the most dreary) and an average cafe called Whistlestop.

Now Innerleithen has a world class cafe. Everything about it is perfect: the location, the decor, the colours, the woodwork, the clientele. I could go on.

One of the other reviewers said it has the best coffee in Scotland ("bar none") but I wouldn't know as I gave up coffee 10 years ago.

But I can confirm that it has great tea and cakes but most of all, and more valuable than anything to drink, it has a great atmosphere: the people owning it are hardworking and friendly and their natural charm just spreads through the place in terms of the nice staff they hire, their good taste and attention to detail.

It's a kind of community centre in that mountain bikers, as well as elderly people and kids, come and meet up here. I sometimes go in to read the papers, and New Scientist , and write stuff like...

Without any doubt No1PR has raised the bar when it comes to coffee houses, and not just in the borders either. We're talking nationwide with this fantastic eatery which boasts the best ground beans and homemade scrannables available south of the Zeti Reticuli . I pop in from time to time when I'm down in the borders. I always enjoy the place thoroughly. The coffee's to die for and the atmosphere is always a joy to relax in. The food and beverage menu's always brimming with so much choices and a few surprises. Everything about this little diamond in Innerleithen is exceptional in my opinion. Just talking from my own personal experience as someone who appreciates great service and quality homemade preparations.

I'd give this coffee house 15 stars if possible. It deserves more than...

No. 1 Peebles Road is a must stop in Innerleithen. From the moment you walk in, to the warm hello, to the coffee, cakes and beyond. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. It’s a place where locals, visitors and furry friends all congregate. The food is amazing. All prepared and cooked with love from the kitchen. You can feel the excitement of the riders going in their way to conquer the hills or friends just catching up for a coffee and a cake. And to top it all off there’s a warm fire to heat up your hands and get you ready to go back out to the weather. And a special thank you to the birthday scone and candle Thanks Craig and Anna and the rest of the wonderful team. I’ll be back when I’m visiting Innerleithen...

Nipped in here after an afternoons biking , the couple that own/run the place were just closing for the day and a couple off days off but we're only to happy to pop a couple of cheese scones in the oven to warm up while serving a couple of hot sugary white teas . We had a right guid blether the three of us , the scones were served dripping with hot butter and the tea to a couple of young lads who were damp cold but buzzing after a day on the bikes and we're received with open hands and wide smiles. Thanks for your kind gesture and hospitality. Stee , Jay , Murry.

Quirky. Natural. Buzzing. Communal. Friendly. This place is awesome - loads to look at. I enjoyed breakfast outside with a blanket + hot water bottle (thank you to our beautiful server!), orange juicešŸŠ, the SWEETEST avocado on sourdough toast with balsamic glaze + smoked paprika + a VEGAN SCONE! šŸ“ An environment which can only be built from time + love, people with service you can't buy + an atmosphere like I've never seen before in Scotland. Thank you for catering so kindly to a cold, vegan tattie. šŸ’›
