After seeing quite a few negative reviews, I was a bit hesitant going here for the first time. However it was last minute, and with limited options for eating out in Cumbernauld, we went for it. My partner had been before a few times and always had good experiences which helped convince me. I do feel like reviews are negatively balanced, as you are more likely to go and leave a bad review after a bad experience at a venue, than go and put a good review after a good experience - so I'm here to try and balance it out a bit. Food was very good, not a single complaint. Couple of individual items to note - I had the scallop and black pudding starter - honestly, amazing. My partner had the baba napoletano - apparently the best desert she had ever had. It was busy (a Friday night) but not too noisy. The service was very good - Attentive, chatty, menu recommendations etc, but not overbearing. Cost wise - considering we had 3 courses, and 5 drinks (3 of which were alcohol), it averaged at £45 per head, which I felt was reasonable. Genuinely an all round great experience and we will...
Read moreThis was the most luck lustre restaurant we have frequented for a long time. The food was appalling, we had heard mixed reviews but decided to try for ourselves. I had to send my risotto back, I had added salt twice in the hope it would bring out some flavors, to no avail. The waitress then asked what I wanted them to do with it! I did get a pasta replacement and the only positive was they cooked it al dente, however, once again, lacked decent flavour or seasoning.
The desserts were substandard, the length of service was poor, the atmosphere in the place was non existent and there is nothing to absorb the sound, it's just tinny noise everywhere.
The staff were very robotic, except one young girl with blonde hair, some arm tattoos who said she was hard of hearing, she was a lovely waitress who put some effort into engaging with the patrons.
I would never return, what a shame after their kirkintilloch place...
Read moreWent for breakfast this morning. Including my wife and I there were 5 people in total in the restaurant. I ordered Nonnas breakfast, my wife had the French toast and Mayple (their spelling) syrup. We waited a half hour for breakfast and we were really looking forward to it. My toast was tough and dry as was the potato scone, the egg yolk was congealed, the bacon was dry and tough. My wife’s French toast was dry on the outside as oppose to being crisp and her bacon was dry and tough. We hate complaining when out for something to eat as we really enjoy dining out. We returned the breakfast and I asked to speak with the Chef as I was very disappointed and wanted an explanation for the food being the way it was when the restaurant was so quiet. This was declined by the chef. I was very disappointed as I have recommended Nonnas to people frequently especially for breakfast but will not be...
