Set the scene… Just out of the quickest airport security line ever conceived, and you see the gates of heaven - Duty Free. You think to yourself “hmm, my tummy rumbles. I wonder where we shall fuel and water ourselves in this magnificent house of planes?” And it hits. Par & Eagle Bar & Kitchen. And let me tell you, par it is. You sit down, scan the QR code but to your demise - it’s not working. You navigate to the overstaffed bar and notice the most unbelievably British tap line up of all time. Check this: Strongbow dark fruit, Heineken, Morretti, Amstel, inch’s, Tennents, Madri and… you guessed it! Guinness. Wow. Speechless. You order a simple cheeseburger, a side of sweet potato fries and a pint (or 2 ;) haha). “Is that everything for you?” You hear muffled in the background as you see the card machine light up as if a pot of gold “that’ll be £38.56” THIRTY EIGHT POUND FIFTY SIX PENCE!? YER JESTIN! Absolutely loco crazy, you think to yourself.
Anyway. Food sub par (wahey), pints are pints at the end of the day but would’ve been cheaper brewing my own. Shoutout to my homies Jen, Charlie, Jamie and wee G-dawg (Gary (we go way back (I’m just joking...
Read moreAppalled, the food I have just been served was an absolute disgrace. When one pays nearly £17 for nachos they expect at least a bare minimum of heat throughout the meal…not tonight.
Horrendous experience, however, to give the be of it if the doubt, never an issue until tonight.
£3 extra to have the (loaded nachos). By loaded do they mean a table spoon of pulled pork ?
To emphasise, cold, the plate and contents on the plate look scared of the sight of even a microwave.
When complaining to staff I was absolutely over the moon with their composure and absolute professionalism. Both Callum&Lewis were absolutely excellent in understanding the issue I had faced as one of the members of staff had the same meal today and experienced similar issues.
To conclude, Preswick airport is Preswick airport but the absolute bare minimum for a (nearly £17) plate of food is for it to be warm and maybe even well presented. Today I’ve had the opposite. £17 in Glasgow city centre would get you an exquisite 2 course meal. Not this airport. Appalled. Disappointed. And a bloody...
Read moreStraggered to see the overall rating this place gets, one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had (airport or not). Alarm bells started ringing when I realised eating onboard the flight would’ve been cheaper than here. Very expensive (£18.99) burger ordered, wrong item arrived after a long wait but I was happy to send back as it was cremated. Correct food arrives, also very burnt. Then notice every one that goes past seems to have been burnt to a crisp. Over £4 for an incredibly small bowl of chips. A mug of tea is somehow even more expensive than Ryanair onboard. Servers were friendly, but service very slow. Had to chase twice for deserts to get delivered. Just as well they aren’t trying to operate in a proper airport as they don’t seem to be able to handle an occasional...
