Ordered via Ayr Eats, arrived on time to collect the order & staff had no idea about it...Toby told me they had issues with the system and would arrange for it to be delivered to my workplace & requested proof of order which was fine. The barmaid was pleasant to deal with and that's the only reason I can give one star. ... Once I was back at work and sent proof of order, he tells me his driver is 2 minutes away and will send the food right away. I go wait outside to collect, he calls me and demands that I now go back into my work and either login online to pay for it again or get my wallet and pay over the phone because the restaurant didn't accept the order in time. (Don't see how this is my issue)

So now another 30 mins later, our dinner break is over and he offers £1.50 off our meal (very generous LOL). He then rudely suggests we just cancel because it is obviously a hassle for him to deal with the issue.

Extremely poor service & insulting to hold our order ransom until he was paid again, all for £19 worth of food? Why not send the food then the bill could have been paid to the driver? We are regular customers!

Loads of my colleagues use red lion and we book for nights out here so great job on losing business for the restaurant because of your poor attitude. Not even interested in Toby making up for it, way too much hassle for us to ever want to deal...

Great wee place! First and foremost can I just say Ashley that works there is a fantastic host! Thoroughly went through menu and when one part of food order was slightly wrong she immediately corrected it! Now by todays standards that is a member of staff who has hospitality customer service down to a tee through &through! Well done Ashley, you made our visit feel very speacial!

Food was lovely! I ordered a rare fillet steak and most don't get it right but it was perfect. Kids loved their meals too. Atmosphere was lovely too, that of a family friendly place but also caters to those that are not with children. By this I mean, seating is strategically placed which is perfect for anyone to visit. Background music was good and not too loud so you could have conversation without feeling overheard.

All in all this is a great wee place to visit. Good prices for food and drink( alcohol included) .

The stand out of the day was Ashley though, when I choose a place to eat I want and love the staff to be down to earth, knowledgeable about locality (places to visit/explore) but most of all know the menu. So thank you Ashley and to all the other hospitable staff and to the kitchen staff for a lovely 3 course meal had by 4 of us.

It really was a fabulous Sunday afternoon meal in a lovely atmosphere.

Well...

As a family we booked the red lion weeks ago for 22 adults and 5 children so that we could have a family dinner for my grand daughters 21st. The minute we stepped in it was a disaster they hadnt put tables together the company was split in two . The food orders were taken . We waited 45 for the first starter to come out . They were at best barely edible the soup in particular was tasteless. Then we waited another 40 minutes for the mains . Well what can I say they were brought out a couple at a time with 10minute waits in between we just had to start eating or everyone would have had cold food. One person didnt get a meal at all . Childrens portion given to an adult . Side orders di dnt even get served . 1 childs meal arrived after everyone who had managed to get some food was finished. The final straw just had to be when we asked for the missing meal . The waitress replied for f**ks sake. The whole thing was a complete disaster !!!! I would certainly put in a recommendation ON NO ACCOUNT EVER VISIT THIS PLACE FOR A MEAL . THE FOOD IS BARELY EDIBLE AND THE SERVICE IS NON EXISTANT THAT IS UNLESS YOU LIKE BEING SWOREN AT !! OH and another aside I asked for another drinks order and was told that was ok as long as I had written it down . I Did just so we vould get...

Stopped in for drinks and food before a wedding reception in Prestwick. The staff are very friendly and good atmosphere. The drinks are very reasonably priced and good deals on food. We had 2 courses and then shared a dessert. In better weather, I'm sure the beer garden would be excellent. Downside where gents toilets, 2 out of 4 urinals were taped off and 1 of the 2 stalls was unusable, I assume the flush wasn't working, not pleasant.

Popped in to The Red Lion for late lunch and the food was delicious. I had the mac and cheese which was definitely homemade and the best I've ever tasted. Staff were lovely and the beer garden allowed us to enjoy the sunshine too. Would highly recommend.

Really enjoyed a visit to this pub on a sunny day. It has a fabulous beer garden whilst inside is also modern with a lovely atmosphere. Food was also nice. We really couldn't fault it and will be returning to this family friendly pub
