Understaffed, slow to take orders and slow receiving orders, I even went back to get my son a cup of tea for the road but was waiting too long, I'm sure it was just an off morning but this is my experience on that day not what I needed for a long journey home, on a plus side the cake my wife got was nicely done not too sweet and my haggis roll was nice 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 I don't normally edit reviews but just to set the owner straight I wasn't having an off day my day was great I was talking about the café, there were 4 people in when I was there that's not busy, if you can't cater for more than 4 people at a time then you need to have a look at what your doing. Food average verging on fast food truck delivery. Decor bland. Staff need to take customer service training diabolical service, coming in dribs and drabs, had to ask for things twice like salt and sugar for tea. (3 staff, 2 tables still very disorganised) Items on menu substituted by other random items, without consultation, when asked why one became challenging and refused to serve our table.. This is quite a nice cafe but they have put their prices up quite a bit recently and in my opinion it's a bit of a rip off We had a couple of breakfasts, think it was 12 odd quid each. Even a sandwich is about £8. They've done away with their soup and a sandwich deal so now if you want that it's £5 for soup and then an extra £8 for a sandwich. It's more like hotel prices than a wee local cafe.
