We didn't want to leave our campervan with a gorgeous view but I'm glad my partner pushed into visiting this lovely bar. We both had the nc500 and 18years old whisky tastings and it was such a blast, glad we didn't miss on it (also very value for price)! balblair was my fav and the full experience was just glorious (12 generous tastings for the two of us), staff is super friendly but also customers were super lovely. Such a great vibe, can't tell for food but they've got a great selection of drinks! Can't wait to visit again and have another special evening here. Ps it's super dog friendly too!

We had heard positive reviews of Sango Sands, but had discounted them as irrelevant as we aren't travelling by campervan. We hadn't heard how good the bar was though nor that it was open to non-residents. This bar has the BEST whisky tasting on the NC500. We tried both the 18 year tasting platter and the NC500 tasting platter, and can recommend them both. Very reasonable pricing for excellent selections. For either those who love whisky or those who want to explore it whilst in the area, it's a great option. Kingsley and Amy are welcoming and friendly and give an exceptional experience.

Oasis my ar&e… about as welcoming as a visit to the dentist for root canal work. Jumpy, inhospitable staff who tell you upon arrival that the cosy looking tables are reserved for staff (yes, just reserved all day long) and then won’t even let you move a chair to another table despite the place being empty. No way they deserve anyone’s money on the “hospitality” business… I bet the owner doesn’t know this is how the customers are treated…

Our first night at the bar was nice, good service from the bar staff, cafe style takeout food was nice, nothing special; and all that is ok as it is what we expected. Tonight though was a different matter. We popped in for a few drinks, again with our dogs. We sat in an alcove out of everyones way. A lady walked passed with her dog and some of dogs got excited - and 10 seconds of barking. This happened again some 5 mins later when she walked passed again with her dog, again some of ours dogs started barking (I might add that other dogs were barking as well). Suddenly the barman came across and said the Manager was getting a little pissed of of the dogs making noise..." this upset us , we left to finish our drinks outside in the Haar and didn't go back as planned. They are just lucky that there is no competition in the area...

This was a really bad takeaway experience. Even though the food itself was good, and the people were receptive to our situation, we got way more than we actually ordered. I wouldn’t believe it was a misunderstanding, because I was very clear. I just asked if they could add extra cheese to some of the fries that came with the chicken, and leave the rest plain. Instead, they added extra portions of fries some plain, some with cheese. So now we ended up paying for five extra sides of fries we never wanted. Maybe this sounds like a small thing to some, but for us, it was a big and unnecessary cost. I take some blame for not checking the receipt and believing the high price was because the menu prices from Google Maps could have been outdated, but I can say I am very...

Absolutely shocking service and very very rude staff. We were basically asked to leave if we couldn’t settle our dog. Makes it sound like he was barking constantly which he wasn’t, when other dog owners came in their dogs barked also. What they failed to notice was the people round the corner from us who had several dogs who were barking…so it wasn’t even our dog yet we were singled out. They need to be taught how to speak to people given they are in the hospitality trade. Don’t say you’re dog friendly when you clearly aren’t. I couldn’t even say they are people friendly either. Avoid this place...
