This place offered the holy grail - a really delicious, high quality afternoon tea. It was hands down the best I've had - in fact, my 11-year-old said it was the best *food* he's ever had. Firstly, the welcome and service was warm and friendly, and the setting on a train felt super special. Then, the food - each person got their own plate of sandwiches and savoury bites; all were extremely flavoursome. The accompanying cake stand was filled with deliciousness - from a wicked Bailey's mousse to delightful tarts to scones with homemade jam. We come to the area every year - we've never been to The Sidings before, but we will 100% make a pilgrimage here annually from now on.

I love this place. It's in an old railway carriage on the dufftown to Keith line. The cakes are absolutely to die for and I am not exaggerating.Their carrot cake is out of this world and one slice is enough for two people but they were clean out so i had the last piece of chocolate cake. The hot chocolate is made from a small block of pure Belgian choc which is on a stick. It's too rich for me so the lady gave me Cadburys powder. Definitely recommend 100%, they do afternoon teas as well.

Nice and cosy place, very friendly staff. The bacon roll was just delicious and the bread was so fresh and soft .. I did enjoy the whole bottle of apple juice.

Initially, the place was nearly empty, only two tables, but then once the train arrived, the whole placed was filled in with lots of people, couples, families and little children. Staff were running up and down the corridor helping everyone and bringing food and drinks.

I was very nicely surprised on leaving, hearing you through the wall just after walking out, saying: "bye!! see you!"

I will definitely come back again, you were very nice!! I'm sure you will always have a nice fresh crispy bacon on a softie roll ready! Not only for me, but for all your...

We were very disappointed to be turned away as it was too busy (despite the heritage train arriving as usual). We were then told we could get a coffee & takeaway food at the till. Service there was chaotic and horrendously slow, made worse you could watch staff in kitchen standing doing nothing, chatting or seeming comparing the shapes of two different spoons for a minute…. We asked about a takeaway sandwich and that could not be accommodated within the 100mins we were at Dufftown station…. Tried to call a taxi to take us into cafe in town to no avail. First thing we did when we arrived at Keith was spend too much in the bakers as we...
