Excellent little cafe and deli. There's only a few tables inside in amongst the shop but we've been twice and got a seat and a highchair for our daughter. Nice selection of cakes, teas and coffees etc, also sandwiches and hot rolls. We particularly liked the chocolate and Guinness cake (a Nigella recipe I think). Very well stocked shop for the size of the place also, particularly good cheese selection. Christmas 2017 they offered a christmas hamper service with a very reasonable charge for the box and wrapping after you select...

We discovered Spotty Dog while staying at the nearby Dod Mill, who introduced us to their excellent coffee—and we’re so glad they did. This small delicatessen serves up high-quality bacon baps, great coffee, and a wonderful selection of cheeses. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable; I even tried Brunost cheese amongst their plethora of options and really enjoyed it. We were on our way home from 10 days in the Highlands and wanted a stop a coffee and a rest. I can't comment on the quality of service or the food or drink on offer as we were thwarted at the door. This was the first cafe we had found in all our travels that didn't allow dogs inside. The rain made a mockery of the outside seats so we were forced to go elsewhere. Oh the irony of naming your establishment the spotty dog cafe only to refuse...
