The Aviary at Dollar — Restaurant in Scotland

We recently had the pleasure of dining at The Aviary Restaurant in Dollar, and it was an outstanding experience. From the moment we stepped inside, we were taken aback by the stunning decorations and warm, inviting ambiance. The restaurant’s decor blends rustic charm with modern elegance, creating a cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere that makes it perfect for any occasion, whether a romantic dinner or a family gathering.

Although we didn't have the main course, we thoroughly enjoyed the variety of sides we ordered. Each side was flavorful and perfectly prepared, and we also indulged in their hot chocolate, which was rich, creamy, and the perfect way to finish off the meal. Every dish we had was made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, showcasing a lot of care and attention to detail.

The service at The Aviary was also exceptional. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and incredibly attentive, ensuring that our experience was as enjoyable as possible.

We came here after our original booking elsewhere suffered a powercut and we're glad. This place was great. I'm guessing a lot of others had the same idea as it become super busy and quickly. The guy serving was great at explaining it'd be a slight wait. The food was delicious. We got a Teriyaki pulled pork burger and a Katsu chicken burger, we shared them and really enjoyed both. Well cooked and lots of flavour. Great chips too - maybe a little less salt as we can add our own if needed. This was a great place for lunch and definitely recommend it over The Forager over the road. Main comment would be for the female member of staff (am guessing a manager from the laptop/phone calls) to maybe not wait to customers to eventually leave from waiting before stepping in to help your staff. It was clearly busy, getting busier and admin can wait. The waiter was brilliant and deserves all the praise. He even took time to chat to us and offer advice on our walk up...

My wife treated me to a meal here for my birthday last night.

I didn't know what to expect when I saw the little faux birds in tiny cages hanging in the window or the funky blinged out parrots on the back of the cocktail menu.

Turns out that the quirks are all part of the wonderful atmosphere that fits perfectly with the temperament of the staff who are friendly & attentive yet not overbearing.

The food is incredible. Perfectly cooked and seasoned such that the salt and pepper pots on the table are superfluous.

We had 2 starters, 2 mains, 1 pudding, a couple of drinks each and our bill was not what we expected (in a pleasant way)

I woud recommend this place to anyone living, holidaying or passing through Dollar.
