Have been here a few times, and the place itself is absolutely lovely. Great interior, nice layout. Usually we have amazing service when ordering tea and cakes. However, this was only the fifth time coming here, and only once before have I had lunch here before now. The other time, the cafe was very busy and so I understood a 18 minute wait for some food. The food was good. Slight mixup in soup flavours, but it was changed quickly and happily, I didn't even have to say: the waitress realised. Today, there had apparently (we found this out when getting the bill) been a mixup in the kitchen. Not being told this, we were left in the dark on why it took a full hour to bring the food to the table. I was with two other people and one had ordered a small soup with their panini, but the soup was cold, so we just returned it and didn't bother after all with that. We then ate our lunch. It was good, but would I wait an hour it? Not really. There was a brief apology, but we had really rude vibes from the staff. It is, granted, a small cafe, but after we'd been there for about 20 minutes, it had cleared out a bit and wasn't busy much at all. I would definitely come here for tea/coffee and cakes again (the cakes and drinks are very good in my opinion), but never for lunch. Or on a...

Been coming here for a few weeks but definitely won't be back after today's experience. At best the staff are clueless and disorganised but I only ever go in for take away. A week ago, I went in for some take away lunch. Ordered only to be told that they couldn't give me the tuna "in case the kids from Dollar School want to order tuna sandwiches". I couldn't believe this at the time so I just put it down to a bad day. Today however, I went in to buy a couple of scones for take away. The shop was empty save for 3 ladies sitting down. As I was about to be handed the scones, a woman from the checkout shouted "Don't give that man any scones in case these ladies want to order them" Unbelieveable...

Really disappointed.

To start with, the atmosphere was off, it was too busy and tables / chairs felt squeezed in. Felt rushed.

We only went in to get a couple of takeaway rolls and were greeted by a cashier with a real face on, we only wanted x2 ham and cheese rolls and really emphasised we wanted no sauce at all and no chutney whatsoever.

Cashier didn’t want to be helpful and said it wasn’t a menu item even though there was a ham and cheese roll seperate. I said we were happy to pay extra if that’s the case.

Took 5-10 minutes and the rolls came out which we were taking to scenic spot nearby to eat. Both were full with piccalilli. Far too much even if you did like it. A simple request...

A beautiful locally run independent cafe in Dollar. I went with a group of friends last week and had a lovely lunch that we’re still raving about now. I don’t often make reviews but this place deserves one. The menu is excellent with something for everyone and the staff are all so friendly. Restaurant quality food for cafe prices! If you’re passing through Dollar make sure you make the stop! Perfect for a post walk treat. Will be back very soon!

What a fabulous cafe we discovered when driving through the area. Very different and quirky inside showing originality and creativity which creates a lovely atmosphere. Cappucinos we had were excellent - just the right strength of coffee and the crispy bacon on oaty rolls were delicious. There were all manner of choices on the breakfast menu in addition to the cakes on display. Very highly recommended if you're in the area.

Went to this little cafe before a walk up to Dollar Castle. I'm a vegetarian and I was so surprised by the surplus of vegetarian brunch options. The specials also sounded so good. I especially loved the Wild Hearth sourdough and Wee Stoater espresso. It's lovely to see such a big selection of local produce in a cafe. The food was 10/10 for both me and my partner.
