I have drank in this pub all my adult life. Helen, Sandy and their team are a breath of fresh air for the pub. The staff all strive to do their best and be welcoming for the customers, old and new. They have put on excellent entertainment and food throughout the two years they have been in charge. They welcome a thriving book club on the last Thursday every month. They have Poker nights on a Wednesday. Monday night quiz, but the questions are too hard lol but good fun and includes play your cards right which is currently, if you participate you could win over three hundred pounds. Entertainment at the weekend nights, sports on all week. The support they have shown to local groups and charities is amazing. Four of us booked a table for a meal and some drinks I ordered the Chinese curry only to be told there was no chicken left (6pm) I then changed my choice to the steak pie. All four of us waited one hour for food even though some of the orders were only for macaroni cheese. When the food eventually came the meat in the steak pie was dry with charred meat and was not soft so I returned it back only to be informed there was no other food left. The owner disagreed with me that the meat had not been soft however I was able to show her that I was cutting through the meat where it should just break apart. I ordered crisps from the bar to fill me up a bit and when we checked the bill it was £2 for a packet of crisps. My partner has just bought a house in the area and we finally found time to pop into the new local with her son in tow.

Place looks very nice outside and  money has been spent on the interior.

Very welcoming staff and they were nice to come over and explain their service and speicals. Normal selection of pub food and happily not a busy menu. They also have a kids menu. You order up at the bar and they open up a tab. I ordered the chicken bbq burger and she ordered the Chilli. Food was very nice and served in good time.

Great drinks selection with dark fruits on tap and i think i spotted a WEST tap which is my current favourite draught beer. Rose wine was nice.
