Fantastic service, great menu with lots of difficult decisions, excellent ambience, beautifully clean and covid friendly. Family orientated as there was a line of children and parents patiently waiting to get in when I was there. Would definitely recommend to all my friends. Also the most fabulous ice cream, delicious to the last bite. Can't wait to go back!

Delicious cheese and ham toastie I shared with my pooch. Although not yet dog friendly cafe I could still sit outside with her. Shame wasn't yet dog friendly as lots of dog walkers in Linn Park not 50 metres away.

Great local cafe with great food and reasonable price. Highlight is their home made vanilla ice cream.

After reading a few reviews here, I felt like I should also write a review from the perspective of a waitress who has worked in this family run cafe for over 6 years. The derby cafe serves up good, honest, homemade food which is good value for money. I don't know many places where you can buy soup and any sandwich for less than £5! I was puzzled to see on another post somebody complain about the macaroni cheese. It is 100% made by our chef who works at the cafe, as are the other dishes. In regard to another review about staff being unpleasant, I can't really comment on that but I do apologise if anyone has found that they have not been spoken to in a way which is appropriate. Overall I believe that the derby cafe is a lovely cafe for a wee treat or spot of lunch or dinner and should not...

The service here always seems to be quite poor. Stopped for coffee, asked if we could take a table and we're told 'sit where you like'. We chose a table away from others that happened to be for four. (There was only the two of us, and if a larger party had come in we would have happily moved. The waitress however felt the need to inform us that we would have to move if a party of 4 came in and told us to move now anyway. I informed her we were happy as we were. I wouldn't mind her asking us to move if 4 came in, but it's not like anyone had! It was more her manner that was the problem. Why tell to sit where we liked? We were then served 2 lattes that had barely seen coffee. Had to ask for that to be fixed, honestly it was like hot milk. We'll...

Asked for roll no roll far enough late on a sunday.Said I could have my crispy bacon and fried egg in a sandwich. Could I have it toasted yes was the reply. Then girl said do u want it to be folded over or like something and I got confused.and any ways.....two bready sandwiches came out eggs a bit jelly, bacon ping with that salty jeely I have been sitting or microwaved thing with oily fat no crispiness, latte weak......oh pavlova was nice 13.55, seems to be doing some inventory as well so shouting about whether they had malteasers and boxes getting launched . Ladders moved etc , so...
