The Gardenhall Inn — Restaurant in Scotland

It was terrible experience. The menu choice was given weeks ago. The table was booked for 1 o'clock. We were there for 1 o'clock. The starters started to be served at 5 past 2. My starter of soup was served sfter everyone else had finished theirs! It was also a very small portion. During this time the waiter had our starter orders gone over 3 different times! He was also very rude and when he brought me my soup he almost tossed it at me! I did asked a waitress for more and eventually received it! There was another long, long wait for the main course even though we had gone over the order during the starter! Everyone else, again, was served before me and I was left waiting! A shorter long wait for dessert! Festive crumble was delivered hot, then we were asked if we wanted custard or ice cream with it! Then a 5 minute wait for the custard to appear! My food was nice. Unfortunately the other 8 folk could not say the same. Their roast potatoes were hard; turkey was salty; the cauliflower cheese had no cheese and the cauliflower was mush! The festive pie pastry was very, very thick! If you are still with me here are the good bits - the brocoli; the Yorkshire pudding; the Christmas crackers were of a good quality and the company I was in...

Very disappointed. We chose to eat here today due to the good reviews. Unfortunately our experience wasn’t the greatest.

No heating was working so the restaurant was freezing which made our stay uncomfortable. Especially with 2 toddlers.

Our table was booked for 17:45 but we never received our food until 19:10.

We ordered our food through the app. 20 minutes after placing our order we were approached by the waiter to say some food we had ordered wasn’t available. So we had to look at the menu again to order something else. It took the waiter 10 minutes to come back to us to take our order.

When our food arrived it wasn’t hot, it also looked like it had been sat on the side while the rest of the food was ready.

15 minutes after finishing our food our dishes were still sat on the table. No waiter had come to collect our dishes or to ask us if we’d like any dessert. By this time our children had become irritable so we decided to leave...

Food was great. Only thing was we were frozen as they kept leaving outside door open to serve food outside. I asked does the door need to stay open. Guy behind bar with tattoos on both arms said"Yes we're serving outside". When I said we were frozen. His answer was"It's roasting in here". His attitude has put us off going there. One of my friends closed the door. We were just starting to get warm again. When female with blond hair serving us. Opened the door again. Both had stinking attitudes. It's not as if we're getting the food for nothing. Today there was 5 of us. Some days there can be 8 or 9 of us. I'm sure the owner doesn't want to lose that business. Hey ho....
