Had lovely welcome from the barmaid unfortunately went downhill from there, food came out really quickly but was terrible, garlic bread burnt, Mac and cheese glaggy, burger ok but mainly singed bun, but worst was the skinny fries which were clearly old fries that had been reheated and tasted stale, on mentioning to the manager that she might want to check the chips the response was "well we all love the chips and ive just had some and they are fine" she then proceeded to talk about us to another member of staff saying we had complained about the chips. On paying she took the food off but still didn't appear to care about the food that had been served to us and the fact one of us had left practically all of it Shame as its a lovely place inside but appears to be style over substance if the manager can't even be bothered to care what the food is like coming out of the kitchen, if the chef is happy to send food out like that then we won't be returning anytime soon.

Meadowpark was by far the best hotel we stayed in on our 8 day trip to Scotland and Ireland. We were greeted with a warm welcome at check in and shown to our rooms. Our room was spectacular! Clean cozy and decorated beautifully. There are only a few rooms and each were uniquely decorated. Downstairs was the restaurant and our food was superb! We started with lettuce wraps and ordered the chicken kabobs, fried rice and Caesar salad. The presentation was unforgettable. Our service could not have been more welcoming. Offered a complimentary Prosecco at the bar as well since we were guests of the hotel. We had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert and fell in love. It was to die for! Upon leaving dinner we were given our breakfast basket for the morning. It had fresh croissants, cheese, meat, orange juice, yogurt and berries and marmalade. I can’t say enough compliments about this place. I didn’t want to leave I felt so comfortable and pampered. 10 stars!!

So glad we found this place. Unfortunately we arrived late and left early, so did not get to sample the dining experience or the food, but everything else was terrific. The greeting at reception and later at the bar were both friendly and welcoming. It is evident so much attention to detail had been put into everything, the dining room, bar area, the outside seating. We arrived at dusk and the place was lit up really tastefully, creating a magical atmosphere. As with many places we stayed at, there was no lift/elevator, so if you're arriving with lots of luggage keep that in mind, however they didn't hesitate to help us carry things upstairs so no concerns. We will definitely be staying here longer on our next trip.

Lovely looking restaurant.. booked 5 of us for a family 18th & 21st party dinner .. Our booking was for 6 and we arrived at 5.45 . Initial thoughts were that it had a lovely warm ambiance but sadly that's where the satisfaction ended. We were shown to our table promptly and ordered drinks which arrived fairly quickly. We had signed up for the mailing list but at no time offered the free bottle of prosecco bearing in mind it was a double birthday meal.. Our starters arrived 20 minutes after we ordered them and then we waited a further 45 minutes for our mains. We ordered cocktails after the starter , & we had to call a waiter after waiting 20 minutes for them During the main we asked for sauces.. which failed to appear and we waited a further 30 minutes after the main for our dessert. The food was average and the portion sizes were very small. My daughter had to leave at 8.15 to make an appointment so she did not even get to eat the pudding she had ordered. No apologies were made for the long wait. Wanted the night to be special but having seen only 4 staff serving a very busy restaurant, they were clearly understaffed and paid only basic attention to us.. It was not a cheap and cheerful meal in any respect as the bill came to £171.. Left at 8.30 feeling very underwhelmed , and still hungry.. Will...

I've been here a few times now as it is so close to our office we choose it as a default restaurant. Yet again, another less than average lunch experience to say the least. Granted we arrived late and they were very gracious about this and if this had been the only time I experienced average food and slow service I would put the blame solely on us for arriving late. However; there were six of us in total and we all decided to choose items from their 'fixed price' menu. Two of us had starters, and a main while the rest choose a main and dessert. The two starters came out lukewarm, bordering on cold, but we were so hungry from waiting so long for any sign of food that we ate it anyway. There was another long wait for the main courses which were average and very small, leaving everyone still hungry. We tried to order a dessert, telling them we we pressed for time, 10 mins later someone came back, not with any desserts, but with news that the creme brulee had changed to rum and raisin from raspberry. No thanks. At this point we had been at the restaurant for almost two hours and were forced to cancel all the remaining dessert orders so we could get back to the office. This restaurant has so much potential, but never seems to be able to reach, let...

so disappointed . Really poor attitude of staff no menus no assistance offered for people who don't have QR readers " apparently it's to stop covid" so instead we and other tables all had to walk through the restaurant in order to find a black board. Turns out it was on the floor in front of a fire exit. Not sure having your clients milling around makes me safer ..halfway through the night they gave up having someone posted on the door and instead every five mins had the bar staff yelling at new customers for coming in, the menu has been reduced to a point of pointless I couldn't find anything and took a risk as list of ingredients not stated on said blackboard. And the waitress was clueless had to keep coming back and forth to ask we wanted . Coke was flat and food was just standard edible but any colder it would of got sent back the burger was on the rare side of medium.far from the amazing place this place was We get better service and food at wetherspoons. Really disappointed as we loved this place years ago even planned to have our wedding here until we out grew it's numbers . Now it seems in need of a revamp. just another classless sub par drinking...
