The Newton Bar — Restaurant in Scotland

Friendly and welcoming staff, a great big Lounge/family room with kids entertainment during the holidays and kids are allowed till 10pm, the front bar is dog friendly, the food is excellent and very reasonably priced (healthy options are available too which is also important for me). The front bar also has a separate room with a pool table - which is getting to be a rarity nowadays - and TV. They put on discos, karaoke, a variety of live entertainment, steak nights, tapas nights and more at weekends. Its really anything and everything you need and want in...

Well what can I say about my experience...nothing more that utterly disgusted by the staff...visited today with my daughter ordered soup as we were both freezing... probably my fault for not asking what kind...I was expecting the usual lentail served in the majority of places unless otherwise advised...the soup was chicken & blackbean...not nice at all...when the waitress removed our full bowls & I advised we couldn't eat the soup...she said absolutely nothing...so rude...worst...

I had chicken burger and chips. It wasn't very nice food, tasted like a very poor frozen reformed chicken patty. Chips were OK and side salad was nice. Some of my friends had other dishes, apparently the burger pattys weren't very nice either but the chicken with chilli dip was lovely. Not cheap food but where is these days.
