Went to this café with friends for coffee as a foreigner. We ordered politely , but the staff, especially the young ladies at the counter, were laughing at us while preparing the drinks. I ordered a macchiato thinking it was a regular coffee with chocolate, and when I reacted to the strong espresso, they laughed again. The experience felt unprofessional and disrespectful. They should’ve guided us rather than laughing and thinking we don’t understand english. Tx

Wonderful time warp retro café. A real treat! Extremely friendly staff, fantastic old decor and lovely milkshakes. I had a cheese toastie which was delicious - not fancy, but the place is unpretentious and old-fashioned in the best way. Super ice-cream sundae for afters. I do wish they had toilets as I could have then stayed longer!

Good homely food, recommend the Ritz Burger. Kids love the selection of ice cream and other sweet treats. Old fashioned juke box adds to the diner feel. Friendly and attentive staff. Only downside is lack of toilets, you have to walk five minutes up the street to the Garrison.

Visited Millport at the end of June with two relatives. We used the ferry as foot passengers and then the wee local bus service.

This was the first place we saw as we got off the bus.

Ordering was fast and efficient. The drinks were lovely and the food was delicious. It was hit and well cooked.. Chips lovely and fresh! Bill for 3 adults was very reasonable and we chose to take an ice cream out with us. The ice cream was homemade and very tasty. We had lemon meringue! It's a must.

The meal left us full for hours which is what you want in a meal.

Only downside was there was no toilet facilities which I thought wasn't allowed when serving food and we were directed to the public toilets.

On that note I'd give this...

They all work so hard to make this place nice, I hope they all have a good week they really deserve it! The food was fantastic, my dad had the cheeseburger and said it was really good, I had the hot dog and let me say it was delicious!!! like it was really really good! The Ritz is as it has always been to me. I lived in Millport fifty plus years ago and went into the Ritz most days for snacks, drinks and their famous ice cream. When I walk in now it looks the same. A bit more worn but the same. There is a game you play on the tables while you are waiting for your food, it is called "hunt for the triangle" Although large areas of the table tops are worn away, search for independent or stand alone triangles amongst all the squigles. Food is good, especially the peas. The Ritz Burger is big and juicy. Coffee is hot. You'll have to ask the kids about the ice creams, but any I saw tucking in...
